I usually come here because it’s the closest boba shop there is , I had ordered a tarro milk tea because that’s what i always order at other boba shops , it’s milky and has the tarro taste. I get my drink and it has no flavor at all , color was literally grey when usually it’s purple because of the flavoring of tarro. I asked the employee that this wasn’t the right drink and that it did not taste like tarro at all. He said “the milk teas are not made sweetened that flavor is the tarro milk tea” I was confused because this is my go to drink and i’ve ordered it multiple times at different boba places except this one . I said okay sorry for the confusion you think you could remake it for a sweetened tarro milk tea ? , he said the milk teas do not come sweated only the “smoothies”. Okay so I asked if he could remake it but this time as a smoothie since those are the ones that actually come “sweetened” and with “flavor” he said he would have to charge me for an extra drink. So basically i paid for the tarro milk tea that I never drank and he wanted me to pay for the “tarro smoothie” I left disappointed, I was in a rush as well. As well i had came here because my aunt wanted boba and again this was the closest boba shop around . They have a bell on the door so when you walk in it dings right. So why did me and my aunt literally wait 13 minutes waiting for someone to check in on us and take our order. Mind you there was NO ONE in the shop it was around 7:15 and we probably thought they were busy making online orders but no sounds were being made , We tired coughing loudly on purpose so they could hear someone was in the shop waiting to order. But not even that worked , eventually they came out and...
Read moreCame in around 6.30pm and nobody was visible. No customer, no employee. I see that there's a machine that can take the order so I started putting my order in. Unfortunately the paying part did not work so I couldn't pay. I asked around "Hello? Hello??" Nobody came out so my husband had to peek pass the bar to see if there's anyone in the kitchen. He said 2 guys, on the floor, on their phone, not hearing or paying attention. My husband had to waved his hand until finally they realized 'Oh there's customer!' I explained how the machine is not letting me pay for the order and I know my card works just fine. So one of them was able to take the order and pay there and then. Spent $13+ for those two 500ml bubble tea. It is absolutely not worth it. What I like is they asked for sweetness and ice, not a lot of places do that. But if you want hot, extra charge. Toppings? Extra $0.75. Bigger size than the 500ml? Extra charge. They nickel and dime you for everything and all you get is this... The only good thing that I can say is the boba was chewy and the place is kept clean so 2 stars in total. But the service? Barely exist. When I came in, the store has this bell that should tell the employee 'Hey there's customer!' Because I get that bubble tea places not always busy, but come on. I ordered coconut milk tea with boba and milk tea black tea with boba. I will not come back and I do not recommend this...
Read moreOver the Rainbow is a cute, local Tea Bar convenient for those who live in the Renton Highlands; there are no other bubble tea shops within the area. First-time guests may experience a bit of trouble finding the storefront as it is located towards the end of the complex. However, the black milk tea is perfect in both the tea to milk ratio and the boba texture. This tea bar is a great place to hang out with friends on a late weekend night---the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. OTR offers Clover points, so keep that in mind as you order. A little box offers free stickers to show your love!
P.S. If you are lucky enough to be served by Jenny, please be sure to treat her pleasantly---she is always willing to make each drink perfect to every request. She is very knowledgeable with the menu and can provide great recommendations. My last visit was an absolute delight...
