I was really excited to try this place but was severely disappointed.

I ordered two orders of pad thai chicken and two crab delight appetizers. One of the dishes was 0 stars spicy the other 2 stars. I wanted to judge their level of spicy. On the 2 star spicy dish I ordered extra meat. I wanted to judge the level of meat given between a regular order and extra meat. I was of course charged more for this.

Here is what I experienced. The noodles were stuck together like a brick on the bottom and loose on the top. I utilize chopsticks avidly, when you can pick up the whole dish...there's a problem.

I started with the spicy 2 star dish with extra meat. I was delighted to see a double portion of meat. although the noodles were like a brick I continued to search the flavor. Unfortunately not spicy at all. The dish was less spicy than expected almost blandly spiced.

I moved on to the dish with 0 stars their original prep. I was displeased as I only had 3 pieces of chicken in the dish the size of a 50 cent piece. This dish made me feel like either both dishes were prepared at once and no thought given to the order. Or the extra meat I paid for some how transitioned to the chicken owed me taken at a loss because hardly any meat was in my original dish. If they prepare the most basic Thai dish like this what does that say for the more complex dishes?

I understand people love this restaurant, that's your right. But from someone that has tasted quality thai food with careful prep this place falls short. I will never eat here again. My only other regrets are I tipped so heavily in my excitement and spent $50 for this experience.

Also while the crab delight had a great taste, I highly...

The food here is WONDERFUL...but the service is some of the worst I've experienced, especially for the price point and quality of the food. It is no small thing for me to spend good money on good food, and I'm willing to do it for the experience and especially to support local businesses. But I will never be back to Royal Orchid again after my experience tonight.

We've eaten at RO a few times with no issues, but tonight, the restaurant got our delivery order wrong, and when I called to politely let them know and request they correct the order, the clerk was rude from the beginning - saying things like, "what do you want me to do about it?" and after requesting they replace the order, "are you going to bring the other order back?!". In the end he told me all they would do is tell the chef to be more careful next time.

He then, without ending our conversation, proceeded to yell at, what sounded like the kitchen staff, while I was still on the line for a few minutes. I stayed on the call, thinking, maybe he changed his mind and was asking them to replace our order. After a few minutes of listening, I am guessing when he realized he never disconnected the call, he hung up.

No apology, no replacement, no credit for the wrong order, nothing.

Restaurants make mistakes, I get that - I have worked in restaurants. And typically a good restaurant, when they do make an error, they try to make it right in some way. The food may be great, but this service experience is enough to make me never...

This place is the cutest, I love it. You’ve got to check it out if you’d love a fun, woodsy, cottagecore-y, purple-y, bunnies everywhere kinda vibe. Or even if you just want a change from the boring modern restaurants these days. It was really a mood boost even entering and waiting for food lol. Bring your date, friend, mom, anyone! Anyway, the food! I tried the red curry and chose medium cause sometimes Thai places be real scary with their spicy levels lol. This one is not! If you’d consider yourself someone who enjoys spicy, I say go for the spicy! The waitress also kindly offered to bring more spice(?) if medium wasn’t enough, but I just rolled with it. I think everyone would think the red curry tastes good! It’s just not super impressive if you’ve tried a lot of Thai places. The pork was slightly tough. The rice is sadly a separate item. And the portion was fine. I also tried the taro wontons which are.. interesting. It’s not sweetened, it just is what it is LOL. Idk if that was worth it, but it was fun to try. The -1 star is for the value overall, I just found it a little pricy but not unreasonable. And if you look too closely, you’ll see some questionable areas like the ceiling lol. But this is all worth it to be served by the delightful ladies and enjoy a good meal in this cozy nest of a restaurant they’ve curated. Try it! Do it! I hope this place thrives forever!! Also, these are the opinions of a Californian who hasn’t tried other Seattle Thai places so take that into consideration too 😅

Placed an order for delivery through a popular delivery service. The curry dish did not include rice to my surprise. I guess it is an additional item. That's my fault, but I've never been to a Thai restaurant that doesn't include rice with curry. Also, I am not a glutinous person but the portions are very small. They also forgot utensils and napkins. I called to let them know and they blamed me for not telling the delivery service. Really? On what planet do you send soup out the door without a spoon, or even a napkin. Insult to injury, I ordered the drunken noodle as well and there are bone fragments in the chicken. I informed the restaurant and they said "No I don't think so." Terrible service. Order from somewhere else. Bone fragments pictured.

We loved everything about this place. Coming from Thailand, it’s hard to find good and authentic Thai food here in the U.S., but this spot truly impressed us. We visited every day while we were in town and enjoyed many delicious Thai dishes such as Pad Kra Pao, Pad Kee Mao, papaya salad, crispy pork with kale, green curry, fried rice, and more. The mango with sticky rice was a perfect way to end the meal—it reminded us of home. If you're looking for authentic Thai food (cooked by Thai chefs) with great taste and reasonable prices, look no further! We highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back the next time we're in town.
