Silky Cakes Seattle - custom bakery — Restaurant in Renton

I connected with the owner on instagram to order cupcakes two weeks in advance. Admittedly this is not the bakery’s typical order but she was willing to assist. Our messages went from seeking information to me wanting to place an order. Unbeknownst to me, and also no where within her website details, if you don’t make a payment within 4 hours of her sending you her payment details she will cancel your order. Overall, my experience trying to complete my order and make the payment was an absolute disaster. The owner had a terrible attitude and rather than just decline my request as it became clear she didn’t want to take it to begin with, she was incredibly impatient, rude and lacked any couth. While her work is beautiful and she comes highly recommended, she lacks all customer service skills and doesn’t know how to properly communicate with her potential client base.

Run your business as you see fit but your attitude is horrendous and unfortunately speaks louder than the quality...

I found Silky Cakes while searching the web for macarons. I saw their beautiful cakes and we decided to order one for Valentines Day instead of the typical ice cream cake we usually get. We did not regret it or the drive out, which happened to be during a snow storm. Since it happened to snow the weekend the cake was scheduled to be picked up. Masha communicated and let us know she would be open and to take our time. Masha puts pride in her cakes from the aesthetic of the outside to the wonderful deliciously light mousse on the inside. Since I didn’t really know how to order or what to order we went with one of the more popular flavors and ordered a white chocolate mousse with a strawberry smoothie filling and I can see why it is a favorite. I found Silky Cakes after doing some research trying to find a super unique and still fabulous tasting cake. After reading multiple reviews and looking at a ton of photos on different sites, I stumbled upon Silky Cakes and I was absolutely wowed by the reviews and pics. I couldn’t believe how beautiful these cakes were! Since I was looking for a cake for my sons girlfriend’s birthday, I had to get his ok before contacting them (but I knew I would receive an immediate YES!). He picked a cake from the many pictures posted and I was grateful for that, because I couldn’t even decide myself! The cake was an absolute hit with everyone at the birthday party and best of all, his girlfriend LOVED it. I now plan to order a cake for my sons birthday coming up!!
