Ono Teriyaki — Restaurant in Renton

Visited Ono Teriyaki today with a friend. First words out of HIS mouth was, "you want to go right?" Rude! I ignored that interaction, placed my togo order after I paid he TOLD me rudely to wait outside! I watched him mean mug the next customer (African American kid) took his order and his money then RUDELY said wait outside. I was outside but I read the body language of the kid like I did he couldn't belive what he just heard. Then he said I will bring out to you. 10 minutes. I need to mop my floor (1 hour before close). This is the last time I patronize this horrible man and his expensive food and I work next door. Don't patronize establishments that think you need them and they can treat you any kind of way. Everyone has a bad day once in a while, this is just a fundamental personality trait, he is just not a nice person. He needs to sell the place if he doesn't want to be there. He is a miserable owner. I went during lunch with a few coworkers. The lady at the counter was very polite and kind. Greeting us when we went in. I had the regular teriyaki chicken with a normal salad... I also had a fountain soda as well. The price was reasonable... The food really was stand out. The rice and salad were pretty much standard fair. But the chicken was cooked perfectly, and hearing the cook in the back chopping the chicken up was nice. It was hot and fresh when I got it. Also while this is all in my opinion, the sauce wasn't overly salty. And there was enough extra sauce that the rice was able to get most all of it with out needing more. OUTSTANDING!! I was about to make a 20 min drive to one of my favorite Teriyaki places. My favorite dish is short ribs but not many places make it really good. I’ve passed Ono’s many times and thought, let me pull over and see what the reviews say. It didn’t look good. Especially the customer service comments. But i decided I’d give them a try. Clearly they got the memo and someone stepped up to create a better customer experience. The guy greeted me the moment I walked in the door. The food was spectacular! Nice helping size. And after I left and went back to get an extra sauce, prepared to pay cuz nothin is free anymore—not only did he not charge me, it was WARM! Definitely going back...
