I've been staying here for 3 months due to a family member staying at the VA hospital. The front desk staff are always very helpful and friendly, the rooms are pretty quiet as there's not too much noise bc the hotel is tucked back away from the streets, the room itself is clean and updated semi recently, the breakfast buffet staff is helpful and she always has food in the trays. The food usually consists of light&fit yogurt, chobani yogurt, 2 kinds of milk, oj, cranberry juice, eggs, sausages, boiled eggs, cheese slices, cereal, apples, bananas, cantaloupe/pineapple, oatmeal, croissants, bagels, English muffins, and whole wheat bread. Weekends you get diy waffles. The breakfast room has seating, lobby has seating, and there's outdoor areas you can eat at as well. The hotel supplies everything you need (tp, paper towels, dish soap, laundry tabs, face soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash). The laundry room has 2 washers and 4 dryers for each of their two buildings. $1.50 each load. Free newspapers in the lobby, Wi-Fi is free, parking is free, the pool is open until 9pm in the summer, the lobby has a computer and printer, there are designated smoking areas (an enclosed area in the back for when it rains), pets are allowed. The hotel is within walking distance to Wal-Mart/Chevron/casinos/restaurants and a host of other places. It's close to family fun center, movie theaters, shopping, etc. You can uber it to downtown Seattle for about $15. All in all it's an excellent place to stay!! All staff are so nice and personable. This place is great for families/younger guests to party nearby in Seattle/etc.
I am quiet surprised that there was a review saying the staff were loud. I haven't had an issue with that and IF that were to ever happen I'm sure you could ask the staff to be quiet. As i said though, 3 months I've been here and I've never heard the staff be loud outside lol.
The shuttle back and forth to the airport goes once every hour and the staff tell you that so you can plan accordingly. The airport is about 15 minutes away if you drive (during busy times).
I've never had an issue with anyone stealing any items of mine. As I've left valuables in my room when housekeeling were there. Not the smartest thing to do in any situation but I've left cash/diamond earrings and my cell in the room.
The crowd here is mixed. I haven't seen shady people around.
The grounds are kept up.
There is a bbq grill along with tools at the front desk.
There are games and household items you can rent for free at the front...
Read moreHotel was ok but the management staff was incompetent and communication amongst different shifts was lacking. Mysterious charges appeared on our credit card... payments were lost or not applied... the Manager Mike is incompetent and rude. He lacks interpersonal skills, and tries to make it up by being boisterous. If you have to deal with him make sure you document everything. Also, staff will try to charge your credit card without authorization for small amounts even after being paid in full, with cash. Kickbacks? Fake charges?
While the location was good and the grounds were kept up, we were for a long term stay and found that dealing with the staff that long we started to notice issues. Staff was found routinely smoking pot on the grounds and in the rooms. Also, make sure you take your valuables with you, staff will steal you blind.
Maintenance team is nosey and rude and the older female can not be trusted alone. MAKE SURE YOU WATCH HER!!
Overall the stay was good, but having mysterious charges and payments go missing, left my family with stress and lack of any sort of rest. Always had to be on the lookout for staff stealing from us or trying to kick us out even after we paid everything up front and in cash.
If I were you, I would choose another location to stay. Whether it was for business or personal, staying somewhere else would prevent the headache that we...
Read moreI stayed for 3 weeks while my house was on market. The whole team was truly wonderful! Thanks to all! Sassy was the most frequent staff member I encountered (she was always on duty when I went thru lobby in the am). Sassy was 100% pleasant and attentive 100% of the time!! Really a joy to encounter! I had a few minor issues and she handled them immediately and without a hitch. Very professional person! Woody also helped me in the evenings when I had questions or needed something. Super nice guy and very friendly and helpful to me during my stay. Always knew the answer to my questions. John the Manager was also fantastic; always checked with me when we crossed paths to see if I needed anything. Nice leadership touch, John! Great guy. And finally but not least, the outstanding housekeeping staff was exceptional. Whenever they saw me in the hallway near my room, they asked if I needed anything (towels, etc.). Yolanda was extremely helpful keeping my room and providing linens for me. All other staff, whose names I did not catch, were great also! Really...great job team Sonesta in Renton! You can't ask for better service than was provided by these clearly highly dedicated hospitality professionals at Sonesta, especially during these challenging times! I will be back if the...
