I arrived at Honeygrow in Reston around 9:30 AM, expecting to enjoy a nice breakfast as the name sounded like it would offer that. After walking across the street to the location, I was met by an unexpected and unwelcome experience.

As I approached the front door, a male worker positioned himself between me and the entrance, preventing me from entering without saying a word. This lack of communication was not just unwelcoming; it felt quite hostile. There was also a female worker cleaning tables, which led me to believe that they were open for business.

As the male worker continued to block my way, his body language was aggressive, and he stared me down without uttering a single word. It was only upon noticing the hours posted on the door that I realized they weren't open at 9:30 AM. I politely asked him if he knew of any other places in the plaza that might be open for breakfast. His response was abrupt and unfriendly — a loud "NO!" followed by continued glaring.

Feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable, I chose to leave without further engaging with him. It was unfortunate that my experience left such a negative impression, as you never know how interactions might go, and I certainly didn’t expect to be met with hostility.

I hope the management considers improving their customer service, as a simple greeting or helpful response could have completely changed my experience. For now, I won't be returning...

This Honeygrow in Reston has officially become my go-to lunch spot—and honestly, it’s hard to imagine eating anywhere else now. From the moment you walk in, you feel the energy of a team that genuinely cares about their guests. Joseph and his crew deliver service that goes above and beyond what you’d expect in a fast-casual setting. Joseph himself even brought my food to the table, greeting me with kindness and professionalism that made me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer.

Now, let’s talk about the food—because wow. This was only my second time at Honeygrow, and I’m already hooked for life. Every bite is bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors that taste like they were made just for you. It’s rare to find a place that balances quality, speed, and taste this well.

On top of the stellar service and mouthwatering food, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming—a perfect break in the middle of a busy day. Honeygrow checks every box: amazing people, amazing food, and a space that makes you want to linger just a little longer.

The stir-fry itself is quite good albeit slightly carb heavy with more noodles that veggies (expected). Had to go twice to get a good sampling of the service experience. My first visit on a Saturday afternoon with family was a disaster. All 5 of us ordered the fully custom stir-fry and ended up having to ask for a refund for one of them, as the order was completely messed up. In addition, the order was delayed, the tables were not cleaned, and there was food on the floor. Overall, not a good first experience. However, was willing to give the place another go and my next visit was on a weekday after the weekend above. Since, it was lunch time there were quite a few people in the line in front of me. But, the service was pretty good, fast and more organized with additional staff available to handle the surge . Was in and out in under 15 minutes and received exactly what i ordered. I did choose from one of the predefined stir-fry items with minor modification. The end result is that I will be including this location as part of my daily lunch routine (takeout only), but based on current experience is not my go-to place for...
