I will talk about my recent two visits to this place -
First time: I went there with 3 of my friends and each one of us had like 3 or 4 drinks. We had few appetizers and main course later. In the end they billed us with gratitude which they were not supposed to. When we asked about why you added gratitude even though we are only 4 people, the waiter laughed and said “it’s a mistake and can we keep it or do you want a refund”. We had a blank face and didn’t ask for refund. Plus the customer service was really bad during our meal. She was not even paying attention to us when we are asking for recommendations for drinks and stuff.
Second time: I was the first person to reach the place and I asked for a table for three people. She said it’s 1 hour wait time which was ok. I was waiting outside and one of my friend arrived and the table was ready in 40 mins. We walked upto the front and told that we got a message that table was ready but she didn’t let us in because they won’t let us in that until the full party is present. We waited for 20 mins outside the restaurant until my friend’s arrival. They have varieties of fancy glasses in which they serve drinks and my friend wanted her drink in one particular glass of Baby Yoda. She requested the waiter for the same and waiter was like we only have two glasses of that kind. We were like ok she’s lying because we saw a bunch of the same glasses over the bar counter. While we were having drinks those BY glasses were kept coming from the bars to tables and my friend was sad. So we asked the waiter again if she can get the next drink in one of the BY glass, the waiter rejected right away saying that they are out of it. The Baby Yoda glasses kept coming from the bar all the time until we step out from the restaurant. And then we ordered drunken noodles, one with tofu and other with chicken. They messed up the order by bringing both tofu in them.
Final review: They don’t have time to properly focus on one table. It’s probably they might have long schedules and we went there at wrong time. But these are like small things we expect from any restaurant. No matter how the good the drinks are if you don’t have a welcoming attitude and spoiling the entire mood with your “dont -give- a-f* face then all of this doesn’t matter. Bringing a check with gratitude of 18-20% and forcing us to pay the gratitude is not acceptable. And serving the drink in one of those glasses was a silly and small thing we asked for and it wasn’t a big deal for them.
TBH, the drinks are very good. Food is just ok not authentic but the customer service sucks!! I suggest to go to this during...
Read moreI took my parents with me on a lunch date, my Dad rarely eats out, maybe 2-3x a year because he likes cooking his own food at home. Needless to say, he enjoyed himself and the Lychee Duck Curry. So much so, he even looked up how to make it, it was extremely flavorful and the duck was tender.
We were greeted by Fern the hostess who sat us right under some pretty cool artwork. We were waited on by Kiki, Amm and Gina, because shifts were rotating out, they are all so nice and helpful, we got recommendations from each one of them.
We placed an order for the drinks and appetizers (everything came out really quickly) and enjoyed ourselves.
The restaurant is beautiful and spacious, there's a cherry blossom theme currently with a really cool pink decorated phone booth in the front before you walk in and themed menu. The bar is very nice as well, my parents took a picture in front of it.
The food was AMAZING, they have a lunch special menu and from what I saw was what the other patrons were ordering from as well. It's a steal of a deal!
Here's what my parents and I ordered:
Appetizers: Tom Yum: Chicken, lemongrass, chili, cherry tomatoes, kaffir lime, mushrooms
Healthy Roll: Minced chicken, lettuce, carrots, Thai basil, rice noodles, cucumber, rice paper, spicy peanut dipping sauce
Calamari: Southern-style fried whole wings, pickled veggies, sticky rice or steamed veggies
Hot Gai Wings: Batter fried calamari, Sriracha aioli, shishito peppers
Drinks: Love Yuzu Chardonnay North Bound
Entree: Shishido beef: Flank steak, shishito peppers, mushrooms, onions, scallions, carrots
Lychee duck curry: Duck breast, lychee, finger peppers, cherry tomatoes, Thai basil, pineapple, red curry paste
Basil, fried rice: Ground chicken, Thai basil, bell peppers, green beans, finger peppers, fried egg
Sa Mui Lo Mein -- Gina told us to try this dish. 100 stars. I would've never ever tried this. Shrimp, minced chicken, egg, onions, Thai basil, bell peppers, pineapple, chili shrimp paste
Dessert: Cappuccino Spicy Brownie: Thai chili pepper, dark chocolate, almond tuile, salted caramel ice cream
Pina Colada: Pineapple cake, coconut glaze, coconut flake, toasted coconut & chocolate chip ice cream
I can't wait to see what's on the summer menu!...
