We went for lunch yesterday. There were several tables available, and we were directed to one with more space around it, which we appreciated. Food and beverage menus were delivered, but we opted just for water. The menu looked promising, with apparently their take on lots of sandwiches and sides. We both ordered sandwiches, me a Reston club, and my wife an Italian Cubano. She's a big fan of olives, and I knew what her order would be because of the muffaletta spread.
Nowhere on the menu did it mention that the bread was toasted. The muffaletta spread was scarce, but the sandwich was dripping with yellow mustard. I'm usually the one who doesn't like crusty bread due to the roof of my mouth being quite sensitive. We get subs regularly, but they're not toasted. We also like PotBelly, who run their sandwiches through an oven, but this was unexpected. She asked for another roll, and realized they were probably toasting it too, so we specified untoasted.
Service started out well, and I got an owner type vibe from the host, but he was just an employee. We're pretty significant foodies and expected a better experience with the 4.7 review average. My wife was rather put off over a significant miss on sandwich description and execution. Mine was fine, worth four stars.
I had to find a waiter to request our check. Despite a nice-looking facility, we probably won't be back. This is the 3rd or 4th restaurant in this space in the last several years. Wishing them good luck.
UPDATE:
The owner/manager replied and offered a gift card for a subsidized return visit. We went back on Tuesday. It appears the menu was redone, with both additions and deletions.
She'd heard good things about the Bahn Mi, and ordered that. I opted for the Porkalicious. Both were good. We also shared sweet...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I drive by this restaurant all the time and decided yesterday we’d try it out. We love how large the menu is and thought it was so cool that there are so many different things to pick from as far as sandwiches, pizzas, soups, and salads. I originally wanted to try the foie gras bratwurst that’s on their menu, but they no longer have it, which was totally okay! Again, they have so many options, I was down to try something else! I ordered the “Closed on Sunday,” and my boyfriend ordered the, “Steak and Cheese.” It came out fast, and the portions are huge, but EXTREMELY disappointing. Both of our sandwiches were very soggy and flavorless. The breading on the chicken on my sandwich fell apart and the cheese was horrid. The top bun was only intact because of the burnt Kraft single holding onto the breading of the chicken. The sauce that was on the sandwich had no flavor, as well as the chicken itself. The cheese on my boyfriend’s sandwich peeled completely off and the steak was flavorless. I didn’t finish my sandwich and my boyfriend boxed half of his up, but won’t eat it. Before we ate, we were so excited to potentially come back and try more of the different options, but unfortunately, we won’t be back solely because of the food. Our server was awesome and the atmosphere was...
Read moreThe staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs. The dinning area's atmosphere has a contemporary feel which provides a relaxing social concept as you can hear everyone at your table.
The food was seasoned well without going over the top. I would highly recommend the Mozzerella sticks. They are made in-house with a fine grating of fresh parmesan. It comes with 2 dipping sauces: Basil Pesto Aioli and Pepperoni Marinara (My Favorite). Sorry for not getting a picture but we ate them rather quickly, leaving us wanting more.
There is large number of sandwich offerings and come with 3 options for an additional price: Chips & Pickle, Onion Rings, and Seasoned Waffle Fries. I had the Rachel #21. I had already eaten half of my sandwich before getting a picture. The sandwich was a good size and I matched it up with the chips and pickle. I felt full but not stuffed. The other picture was the steak and cheese. My daughter almost finished her sandwich.
Our next trip, we will try the many pizza options and visit the drink menu for a sour or two.
All-in-all, the price was about the same if going to a chain restaurant. Please remember to support local small businesses such as...
