I had the most amazing bartender, which completely made my night. His name is Jason, and every drink he made was the best version of it that i have ever had! So first I asked for the bar special, which he made a tight rope. This drink alone was amazing, but I wanted something strong and asked for a manhattan. Again, he did not disappoint. Ok, so let me ask for my staple drink, which is an old fashion, and I tell you, he used the range bourbon, but the flavor was out of this world. Then I said, "Give me something new," and he created an off menu espresso martini that you can see in the photos that literally tasted like heaven.
Ok, so I thought, let me go off script, and ask for a negroni, and can you believe he made the negroni in such a way I have never had it, I truely changed my mind on them. I really think jason could create any drink according to my tastebuds. Please note that all drinks are depicted in the photos.
If you want to test a bartender or expand your drinking palette jason at the seven or "se7en" bar that is integrated onto the "AC Hotel Reston" or "Residents inn," This hotels name might be the most complicated name I've ever had in finding it. It has so many variations.
Jason also works on the rooftop lounge, so if you don't see him downstairs, check in the rooftop areas, but know that the rooftop is closed on Sundays and Mondays Which is on the 16th floor!
Now the food was pretty good, but I must add that all vegetables I had tonight had a slight taste of vinegar, which made me think they were canned or jarred variants. This included carrots and mushrooms.
So far, my favorite dish has been the lamb, even after the short ribs...
Read moreI stopped by Se7en after work on a Friday night for a quick bite, and the food was excellent. The standout of the evening, however, was the service provided by the bartender, Hamza. He was not only mixing drinks but also taking orders, running food, and providing attentive, friendly service to everyone at the bar, all while maintaining a positive and welcoming attitude.
That said, I feel compelled to mention a concerning situation I witnessed during my visit. While I was wrapping up some work on my laptop at the bar, a supervisor in a suit approached Hamza in a noticeably aggressive and unprofessional manner, reprimanding him in front of guests over a minor mistake. The volume and tone of the interaction were uncomfortable to witness and created an unnecessarily hostile atmosphere. It was clear the exchange embarrassed Hamza, who had to step away to compose himself.
What made the situation even more disappointing was that the manager had been sitting nearby on his own laptop for much of the evening, offering no assistance despite Hamza clearly managing the entire front-of-house solo.
While my overall experience with the food and Hamza’s service was great, management behavior like this detracts from the guest experience and, more importantly, undermines the hard work of an employee who was doing an outstanding job...
Read moreI came for a pre-dinner snack, and the cocktail bar was still under a soft opening, so the menu was slightly limited but still delicious. I ordered the prosciutto with crushed tomatoes on toast and crispy potatoes with garlic aïoli sauce. I ordered the Forbidden Orchard, a smoky Mezcal cocktail, and the warm mixed olives, which was very good. The atmosphere is beautiful, warm and inviting, with ample areas for sitting, whether in a group or romantic setting. Our server was very attentive. Prices were comparable with neighboring bars and restaurants. there is no free parking in the area so be prepared to pay in a nearby parking garage or two blocks over in a free...
