Mill Hollow is hit or miss I think. The sandwiches are always good and the bread is different and nice, but service could be better. It seems like it is a bunch of high school girls trying to make some extra money but don't really have much training. Last time I went in, I was the only one there (at first, some people came in after me) and I waited for a bit to have my order taken and the girl who took my order had at first walked past me sipping a smoothie or something and totally ignored the fact she had a customer. Once she took my order, it was fine but then I waited for what seemed like 30 minutes for two sandwiches with 10 girls in the back. It looked like a few of them were just chilling behind the ice cream machines and only one or two were actually making the sandwiches which would explain why it took a while. One really nice girl came out after a while and told me she'd check on the progress of my order for me which I felt was very considerate and helpful but she never came back to update me and I just sat waiting. I've eaten here a couple of time, and it seems like they tend to get your food out a little slow. Perhaps its because they use a toaster belt that looked like it moved real slow, I don't know. So yeah, food is good, service is hit or miss because the workers are so young and learning. I want to be more forgiving but I went to kiwi loco afterwards to get yogurt because they were doing a 10th anniversary thing and had $4 cups. Yet, with how packed they were with like 100 people inside with an extending line and out in the parking lot for games, I still got my frozen yogurt in a fraction of the time which seemed silly in comparison to mill hollow where it was empty when I...
Read moreMill Hollow is another cult classic restaurant destination in downtown Rexburg, all of the locals will recommend it, and as such it gets a fair amount of foot traffic. It's a sandwich shop, with a variety of customary options as far as add-ons to throw into the mix of things. Nestled near downtown Rexburg in a rustic homey location. Excellent customer service, quick and speedy which is top notch.
Unfortunately despite the fair-minded recommendations this place is a solid all rounder, way better than a main wire sandwich franchise but it falls short in some key areas. The sandwiches themselves in terms of how they were loaded were just lackluster in terms of what they put on the sandwich itself. For $12.73 a sandwich, three thin slices of pastrami is not going to cut it... Literally.
I can say that the quality of materials (ie, toppings, bread especially) used seemed to be comparable to the expectation of what you would get, so that is always nice to see.
With that being said, I know most businesses in the area have adjusted prices for the sake of 'economic evaluations' but given that this has been happening routinely almost year to year here at Mill Hollow as much as I am happy to support a local business it comes difficult to further recommend owners furthering the lining of their pockets.
As for the flavor of the sandwiches, there are tons of menu options which are healthy, sustainable, and seasonable for...
Read moreThe staff is so friendly and patient! At lunch time there is usually a big rush during the week. The staff keep serving each customer with patience. Also, when you see a crowd at a ace for lunch, that is a good indication that it is worth waiting for! Millhollow has a good selection of salads, sandwiches, and great frozen yogurt! They have everything from BBQ pork, to pastrami, to grilled chicken for sandwiches. Their salads are a deal! They even have a taco salad available. For frozen yogurt, they have rotating flavors, but also keep the staples like chocolate everyday! The toppings you can add make your choices difficult because there are many to choose from. I know they also have smoothies, shakes, etc but I've never gotten one. Millhollow has been around a long time and will continue to be there. If you cant find parking, just park in the parking lot by AC Moore; that is a public parking lot for anyone. They do have a drive thru. If you get to the window and dont know what to order, they can give you a list of options and make suggestions. They make all food to order, so dont expect to be as fast as McDonald's. It is higher quality than that anyway! [The picture is of their vegetarian sandwich. I added 2 different cheeses, and lots of veggies! It is the ideal...
