The reason this hotel gets anything above a 1 star is that their beds are pretty nice in my opinion. That being said, the way the staff handled things this morning was very rude and unprofessional. At 930ish this morning someone tried to get into my room (I don't know why) and couldn't due to the latch lock that I flipped over. Very weird. After making my morning phone calls I fell back asleep and awoke at 11:15, crap! I hurry and jump in the shower so I can hustle and check out. During my shower (within about 3 minutes) I hear these loud slams from someone trying to get through the latch lock and think to myself "what the hell is that?!". There were about 5 slams followed by a couple seconds of silence then another 7 or so slams. I get out of the shower to see what's going on instantly and when I open the door no one is there. So I start getting all my things together quickly and THEN I get a phone call from the front desk informing me that check out was at 11. Seems to me like an entirely backwards procedure. WAIT, THERE'S MORE! When I get to the desk I apologize for being late and explain what happened. The front desk lady wasnt entirely pleasent by any means. She said she tried calling my room first (lie), and tried calling the number on the rental file which was my secretaries number. She said they did these things first. So I called my secretary and they told her on the phone they had tried to get into the room BEFORE they called her. So.. apparently the policy here is to slam the door back and forth, then call you to try and talk. Then, when you get to the front desk and ask why they did what they did, they lie to you about it. Great customer service. I never got a call neither did my secretary, at least not before they tried to bust through their own locking mechanisms. I can't say enough how terribly of an experience this was in terms of customer service and general logic on their part. I'm willing to admit my fault, but I don't beleive the treatment that followed was justified. I wouldn't recommend this hotel based on how it's employees handle things. I've stayed here before, the only person I have ever seen good customer service from is a lady named Debbie. If Debbit is here, so is sanity and maybe you'll...
Read moreChose because we had rewards points. They called the night before we checked in and said they wanted to upgrade us from a 2 queen room to a deluxe with a jacuzzi tub. When we got there our room was the only room in that hallway, wedged between the laundry room and the restrooms, just outside the pool (lots of noise and pass-by traffic. The furnishings were nice however the nightstand couldn't be reached while laying in the bed, there was a recliner randomly squeezed into the middle of the room, and the sofa bed couldn't open because of the unnecessary dining room table. It's lucky that it was only my son with me and we could uncomfortably share the bed. There were 2 random doors that were locked. One of the switches by the door turned out to control an outlet on the other side of the room. The lights in the bathroom were so dim you were in the dark as soon as you closed the shower curtain. The room wasn't fully cleaned either as I found hair ties on the floor. The lobby and hallways were very hot. The pool area stunk of mold. The hot tub did not have working jets so it was literally just a tub of hot water. The emergency exit door looked like you would need a tetanus shot if you got near it - it had chunks missing from rust like an old car and they did a ridiculous job of spray painting it to try to match the other doors. The fitness room needed a combination to access which Gama (the front desk guy) did not know and tried to say we just needed our key. After many texts to someone he retrieved the code. The room was 80 degrees and no working AC, there were 4 machines crammed in for use, and there was a tub of Clorox wipes for wiping down the equipment. Obviously that's not the right way to do it and all of the equipment handles were gummy because of it. Since we used points for our first night they told me I would have to check in separately the next morning. Instead, I checked OUT and cancelled the "second reservation" although it took Gama far too long to complete since he ALWAYS looks like a deer in the headlights and confused...
Read moreI stayed at this Super 8 for 5 nights with my kids while transitioning during a move. This was in October of 2019. We stayed from Saturday night to Wednesday afternoon. The room was very clean the bathroom was very clean. The beds seem pretty old but they were ok on the comfort level. Anytime I asked for new towels or for the carpet to be vacuumed it was done right away by kind friendly staff. The halls and common areas were kept clean. I could have used my garbage taken out a few times that would have been helpful. I didn't think to ask about my room garbage though. The pool was very nice to take the kids and swim for hours. We were the only ones there in the pool for the most part. I did have to ask for towels everytime we went swimming. The towels were pretty thred bear, however they still dry you off and maybe they are saving money by not buying a bunch if new stuff, like mattresses and towels. I know I was able to save a ton of money because I chose to stay with Super 8 in Rexburg on main Street. Now the hot tub was warm not really super hot. Unfortunately on the last day Wednesday, the hot tub was not hot in the morning but I could tell it had been filled up with more water so that is probably why. Every morning breakfast is served from 6 am till 9 am. You can get xold or hot or hot cereal. You make the instant hot cereal yourself. You can have toast, bagels, with cream cheese, peanut butter, jam, or butter. There was yogurt, bananas, mini doughnuts, and mini muffins. Also individually packaged cinnamon rolls that are store bought. The most exciting part about breakfast was make your own waffles, yum! If you need a super affordable place to stay try the super 8 it was great for us. They are part of wyndom rewards too, so that was nice to get some discounts, and add up more points for a...
