I had high hopes for this place. But it was rather a bust. The individual deep dish pizza looks wonderful, but came up short. Why did I give it three stars? Because with some effort, they could be better. First, staffing was adequate and very pleasant. Hostess very responsive and frankly, cute. She took us to our seat. Told us about the specials and introduced our waitress. My cousin and I ordered our drinks and the perused the menu's. We decided on the lunch time special which is a main course (in this instance we went with deep dish pizza) and a side (we both had the tomao basil). Ambiance: HORRIBLE if you were hoping to have a conversation at anything below raised voice level. Throw a couple of screaming children into the mix and suddenly you're shouting at each other. It's a poor decision that restaurants make every time they build, it's still considered "trendy" to have the open ceilings. Meh. Once the kids left we could hear each other. The meal came and looked very impressive. I started with the soup. Hot and wonderful. Could taste the tomato and the croutons were good. The pizza. Well that's where we hit a bump. Looked great. Tasted OK, but was a little cold. Crust was way to soggy. Just flat fell out of my hand. Also the crust was a but under done. Flavor was excellent. Pepperoni was good and salty, sausage had good flavor as well! I will be honest, I miss Baker's Square. Lot's of good memories. I'll give Giordano's another chance. I'm sure they're shaking things out.

It’s Giordano’s! The best pizza in Chicago, now in the Twin Cities. The deep dish pizza is delicious. It takes a long time to cook it to perfection, especially the large, so don’t expect it to be out in 20 minutes. It won’t be. Get an app or two and have a drink and relax. Giordano’s pizza is delicious. I’ve only tried the deep dish, so I can’t review any other type. If this location were closer to my house, I’d go there more often. The wait is worth it. It’s a big pizza and it’s filling. The 3 of us ate the whole pie, but we certainly weren’t hungry afterward. Pro tip: know what you want and order as soon as you sit down. The location is kind of funky to get to, especially using Google maps. Maps brings you through the back of the parking lot/strip mall. At least coming from the direction we came from. Giordano’s is a stand alone building off of a different street, in the parking lot of the strip mall. You’ll figure it out. I’ll be back to Giordano’s the next time I’m in the area and have an hour to eat.

Best deep dish in the city in my opinion... I went to the Edina location recently and enjoyed the deep dish with the garlic broccoli and mushroom. Although the food was good... they messed up my large $200 to go order. Ordered 3 appetizers and when I got home... ZERO. It was a bummer because I had guest. Also, If ordering a togo, large lasagna, don't stack another hot pasta on top. The hot spaghetti melted the lid on the lasagna and squished the whole thing. It tasted the same but all the insides of the lasagne squeezed out so it looked like goulash. It was a bummer because it was the same NEW YEARS EVE they forgot the apps. Although they messed up and was bummed out, I guess anyone- anyplace can have a off night... i certainly will go back. Food is good and deep dish is the best! (could have gave it a 4 but, not for 1 mess-up ) 5 Star I recommend.

If you like deep dish pizza, GO HERE! Amazing amount of cheese and plenty of toppings make their pizzas one of a kind. People literally drive from hours away to get this pizza. The reason for the 4 stars was due to #1. Our server had more of a "curt, I'm having a bad/pissy day" attitude than we'd experienced here before. Not very warm or welcoming, which was surprising as we were 1 of only 4 or 5 tables that were occupied at the time. We were hoping for a bit more on the service side, as we had people with, eating there for their 1st time. We still tipped very well, as everyone has bad days and we're hoping that's all it was and not a new care free, drop in customer service type attitude. #2. Their tables are very glossy, and apparently curve towards the floor right at the end of the table. This was discovered by witnessing my tall beer, which was 2/3 full, sliding, ON IT'S OWN, almost an entire foot before falling off the table due to "condensation between the glass and the table top" we were told. FORTUNATELY, my peripheral vision saw something moving and I was able to catch the glass in mid fall. UNFORTUNATELY, our friends daughter experienced her 1st beer bath as the beer flew out of the glass and all over her and the booth, and her food. 🤦 Definitely need to do something about the edge of the tables to help make them not so slippery by the edges. Or at least inform the customers to be cautious of items sliding around on their own. The issue we had with this incident WASN'T that it happened, but rather the waitress, as she walked by, nonchalantly saying, " oh, the moisture makes the table slippery at times" , confirming what I thought, which was that this type of thing must've happened before! I cleaned it all mostly up myself B4 she came back with a small towel. She didn't offer to replace the beer, or the root beer their daughter was drinking, or her spaghetti, all of which had been bathed in beer, or extra napkins, nothing. ESPECIALLY when she knew it was none of our fault. We definitely weren't there looking for a handout, but at least to offer any of that would've been at least courteous and appreciated. When you spend almost $250 on a meal, you kind of expect a little better service you know? Now, that said, the meal itself was great, like usual and everyone had a very nice time. Well, except for the beer bath recipient. But she was in a better mood when she got to change Into the Clothes we stopped and purchased for her. All in all I recommend you try their DEEP DISH PIZZA if you like cheese and want to enjoy a great eating experience. Just keep your drinks in the middle of the table or bring a little bumper to prevent sliding...

This was a very poor dining experience. I would not revisit again or refer this location to others. We chose to have a Birthday celebration dinner at this restaurant because of the positive reviews on Google and Yelp, and as it turns out for us the only positive of the evening was that our table reservation was available when we arrived and they allowed us to bring in our own birthday cake. We were seated promptly at 6:45pm(our reservation time) but unfortunately everything was downhill after this. After being seated the waitress took our drink order at 6:50pm. Only 1 person at our table ordered a bar drink and she didn't return to the table with the beer until 7:15 pm (25 min to get a beer) She told us sorry on several occasions and the the bartender was at fault because he was not very organized tonight. At 7:20pm we placed our main food order, "2 med deep dish pizzas and 1 thin crust pizza". Close to 8:00pm the food was delivered but it was the wrong food. The thin crust was correct and the 2 deep dish we believed were incorrect The waitress took the two deep dish pizzas away saying that she brought them all out to us because they were sitting next to each other on the line?? When she returned several min later with one of these deep dish pizzas she had just taken away she told us that she made a mistake and entered the wrong order into the computer. She offered to re-enter the order, however the wait time would be another 40 more mins. We said it's ok and just to cxl that pizza and not to resubmit the order. It was now 8:10pm when we received a partial order. She offered to send the manager over to discuss "the situation" We declined the offer to speak to the manager and only wanted to eat the dinner that was brought out and move on with our Birthday celebration. Less than 5 min later the manager came over and interrupted our table discussion and basically insisted that we allow her to reenter the order and we could have the pizza for free. A member of our group agreed to the managers request and that was the last of any staff member we saw until they cleared the plates from the table. Side note: the 10 min or so, when the food was brought to the table, taken away and the only one pizza returned to the table, the thin crust and the deep dish were both cooled down. So basically we ate less than hot pizza. which is disappointing. So the compounding factors of slow service, order mistakes and less than perfect quality food are the reasons I would not visit this...

Firstly, I'd like to stress that the waitress and food were absolutely great, couldn't have asked for much more. We have been to multiple Giordanos restaurants across the US, and have always been treated with courtesy and respect. The reason for the 2 star review is the host. Upon arriving at 8:15, our first greeting was "you know we close at 9 right?". He already seemed frustrated that we had dared to arrive 45 minutes before closing. A very miserable and negative demeanor that genuinely soured our experience. He was dressed very much like an average Joe, hoodie and jeans, and then proceeded to look miserable and mope around on his cell phone at the host stand for the rest of the time we were there. Forgive me, but if I arrive at a restaurant, even 5 minutes before closing, I do not expect this kind of reception. It made us feel genuinely unwelcome in the business and rushed to leave. We work in the restaurant industry, and if any of our staff ever behaved in this way towards customers, they wouldn't be our staff for very long. I'd like to stress that the food, server and facilities were excellent, however if this host is in such a sour mood and a rush to leave, he should seek employment out of the service industry. Please don't let this review stop you from enjoying their incredible food, I just hope their standards are raised in regards to their hosting and welcoming of guests. I genuinely wish the best for this host and I hope he isn't fired, rather taught that this is not how you treat paying...
