We've never experienced such horrible service in my 71 years of life. We ordered my mother's 90th birthday cake a month in advance. I had paid for the cake. When we went to pick up the cake, we were told that we didn't order the cake. I didn't have my receipt with me because I've been ordering cakes from this place since they opened. We said we could prove that we paid from our bank statement. Their response was, "how do I know you didn't ordered something else totally up to the exact amount of the cake?!" After some back and forth, one of the persip said, "I'll pay for your cake, what do you want me to put on the cake?" After I told them, they went to the back and came back saying, "the baker's been working for 22 hours and don't have time to do it. You take it or leave it." That's when I was in disbelief that this is how they would treat a paying customer. I said, " you're the one who made the mistake, not me. This is your problem. My mother's 90th birthday is coming up and I wouldn't have an issue if we had other options. Is Kelly back there?" That's when Kelly said, " You take the cake or leave it. But you need to get out of here or I'll call the cops!! And don't come back!"
Unbelievable!!! This is how they fix a mistake?! I had to take the cakes and decorate it myself because the party was the next day. This is beyond rude. Don't worry, we won't be coming back. And we'll be sure to make sure no one else will as well.
If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. Looks like i have to give it at least one star to write a review. I can't decide whether I'm more angry that they didn't have my cake or the way...
Read moreReally disappointed in our custom cake order. We love love the 6in raspberry swirl cheesecake they have and always order one or two for birthdays. This year my son did the ordering, was talked into an 8in for 60$ and this is what we got. I called to ask if there was a certain verbage that was supposed to have been used because this is NOT the same. Also the order was an hour late, maybe there was a shortcut taken? Maybe some confusion? It wasn't ready before it was frosted and decorated? All understandable, how do we avoid this again? Help! I was told by the first person that it should have been the same, but when the baker spoke to me she said "in large batches like the 8in, there's so much that it separates and the jelly rises to the top." 🤔😶 Ok well I guess two 6 in raspberry swirls is what we will have to order from now on? "Yes , that's what I would recommend." Great! 😐 Nice resolution. Idk what's going on there anymore. True story.
While I appreciate the reply, I believe I spoke clearly when asking for the correct verbage to avoid this again and help with clarity. I did not order this, nor did I pay for this so if you truly wish to make this right I believe you have that information. Other than that all I can say is how in the world could ANYone want to eat that- 😒 after they have had the 6in raspberry cheesecake?! 6in or 8in you look at that and tell me how absolutely disappointed you'd be waiting for it and getting... that. Yeah, like I said we love love it. (I'd also like to add that having to continuously refer to it in terms of size just needs to stop, because that's all you ever have in the cooler up...
Read moreMy granddaughter's birthday cake was supposed to be ready Thursday afternoon. The order was placed about a month in advance so there was more than ample time to have the cake ready in time. My wife and I went to pick up the cake Friday morning on our way to our granddaughter's birthday party. When we got there, we were told that the cake wasn't ready and that the they were working on it. My wife called our son to inform him that we were going to be late and the reasons why. Our son called Desserts By Kelly to hear for himself why the cake was late when he put the order in in plenty of time. My wife was listening to the conversation and the woman told our son that the cake was done (which wasn't true) and they were boxing it up. The part that really caught us of guard was that when the woman got off the phone with our son, she and the woman working on our cake (I think she was the owner) laughed about the conversation on the phone.
We realize that life happens even in the world of business, but the lack of professionalism that was on display at that bakery Friday morning was uncalled for and inexcusable. I would rather buy a Hostess cupcake next time than...
