Four stars only because they close half an hour earlier than the museum. If you are not aware of it you'll end up getting nothing at the end of the day. Other than that, it's a great place to have a snack or a full meal. Not a huge variety of choices for dinner but great for lunch. Several choices for coffee, tea or fountain drinks. Bakery goods are always great! My favorite- poppy seed lemon muffins (slightly under-baked sometimes but most often very good). Their quinoa- bean salad from the deli bar is great! Compliments to serving staff. All these young people work hard and are very nice if you're nice to them :-) Both inside and outside on the patio are great places to enjoy your cup of tea/coffee or a glass of wine. It can be very peaceful out there during the day but Jazz evenings on Thursday mean big crowds and loud music, so come early if you want to have your choice of seating.

BEST Cafe – Inside VFMA We stopped by this cafe after overhearing someone talking about the frozen margaritas, and let me tell you, they did NOT disappoint! There were two options, Mango Frozen Margarita and Blackberry Lime Margarita and both were delicious, super refreshing, and hit the spot. The place was busy and overall was a good quick sit down. The outside area was very nice it was just too hot to sit out there for too long. The service was quick and friendly, and even though we didn’t try the food (they had items like pizza and pastries). It was perfect for a drink break while exploring the museum!

Best Cafe is understandably concerned about cleanliness, especially during the pandemic, and that’s great! Fortunately, delicious and healthy food is still available there. Today I met someone there for lunch, and we both enjoyed sitting outside. It was getting hot outside. Thankfully, we were under shade of the building, and there was a nice breeze!

Food was okay, a little high priced for what was offered, but pretty standard Museum Cafe fare. The main problem I had however, and I'm sure this isn't too common of an issue was the unnecessary noise pollution. There was a guy behind the counter who was whistling the entire time this loud, shrill, ear piercing whistle. This was probably my first migraine free day in over a week due to rain and all that. I know I can't expect everybody to be quiet because I have migraines, but I just think whistling that loud for that long is insanely excessive. I mean his whistling was so loud that even though I was over in the dining area eating at a table I could feel my teeth just vibrate. He wasn't at fault for whistling at first, people do that, and it's miserable to exist in a world where lots of people whistle and I get migraines from it. However, he was looking directly at me holding my fingers in my ears and started laughing his head off pointing me out to other people and then whistling as loud as he possibly could all while smirking. A customer will come up and ask him something he would answer the question and then continue to whistle as loudly as possible and point me out several times to his coworkers. It costs $0 to be kind and this guy was just a jerk for absolutely no reason. I hope he has the day...
