4 Stars, BUT the reason I am writing this is to address a situation that was out of the norm for this place. Typically the waitstaff is great and there is usually never an issue with the food or anything. The food is also great for the price. But tonight we went in for Taco Tuesday and had an absolutely awful experience. I hope this doesn't become a trend because we like going here so much. We show up for Taco Tuesday, as some others have mentioned it's 3 tacos for $2. It's super crowded, which is not a problem at all. We decided to try and wait for a table but 20 minutes had gone by and we decided to take two seats at the bar (I was already reluctant to do so knowing that tonight we wouldn't be ordering drinks, usually we do). But there wasn't anyone else trying to sit at the bar so I don't think there was much harm in it. We sit down to order and a gentleman asks us what we would like to drink and we informed him we would like waters and that we would be ordering some tacos and tater tots. This is where it gets ridiculous. The man proceeds to lament us for ordering waters with our food because the food is already at such a low price. Which it is! But how in the world is that our fault? This is the one night that we decided not to order their $2 Tecates. The gentleman finishes explaining to us how they are losing so much money on practically giving food away that they are going to have to change the rules. Which is completely fair. I would hope that if he were the owner, or part-owner, that he would understand how to correct a poor business decision. If they are losing money on this then, yes, alter the deal, but don't offend loyal customers for ordering it. Own the mistake and make the change. And it doesn't even stop there. A couple was waiting behind us for a table and they came to the same conclusion to sit at the bar since there was no one else sitting there. They wanted to order the same thing and he does the exact same to them. He essentially bullies the women into ordering a coke and she refused to touch her water the entire time.
So we've put in our order for 12 tacos and a side of tater tots. Our food comes out and we get 6 of the 12 tacos we ordered and the tater tots. It's crowded so our first thought is that they will probably bring the next ones out after they have caught up on everything... but we were wrong. We waited awhile for the tacos and finally asked the other bartender (I think they called him Chris / Guinness? I'm not certain but he was very polite). He went to check and the other gentleman returned and realized that he simply forgot to bring them over. He went and grabbed them from the kitchen. At this point we had already been here an hour and needed to leave, so we ate two of the tacos and asked a waitress for a box. We would have asked one of the gentlemen behind the bar but we happened to be talking to this waitress anyway. She brought us the box and we asked the gentleman behind the bar for the check. He then came at us AGAIN reiterating that they don't do tacos to-go and that if they did they would have a line of cars down the street putting them out of business. HE FORGOT TO BRING US THESE TACOS. He should not have been harassing us about getting a box for them after he failed to bring them to us.
The kicker in all this is that the tater tots were almost $4. The price of two Tecates. So we spent the same amount of money that we would have anyway. I guess the profit margin being slightly higher on the beer over the tots was worthy of embarrassing loyal patrons.
SIDE NOTE: He also told the other bartender (Chris / Guinness) not to over pour after immediately giving a customer a free glass of wine, she asked merely for a taste of one.
We will most likely return here but needless to say it will not...
Read moreNot my worse experience but definitely not my best , let me start by saying I had a really nice waitress , but what went wrong I order the unicorn burger which comes with lettuce tomatoes pickles unions and bacon. The first problem is they didn’t put any bacon on my burger also the burger was literally just a chuck of meat with the inside still raw. The wait failed to ask me if I wanted my burger well done but to bring a burger that was uncooked in the middle was disgusting. I literally took one bite from the burger but me being nice and not wanting to be that guy I waited till I asked for the check to see if the waitress would atleast offer me a different item on the menu or just a better cooked burger but at that point I didn’t want anything from there. The cooks didn’t have no gloves on and no hairnets one cook literally had dreads swinging but the food. Not to mention I asked for a lemonade and that literally tasted like my little sister made that in the back yard and was selling it , was pure water and lemon no sugar. The icing on the cake was went I told her about the burger all the waitress said is she didn’t charge me for the drink so that should make up for it. I also...
Read moreI usually like this place for the patio atmosphere, burger night on Wednesdays, and good beer selection. That said, I won't ding the rating. However, KATHERINE DESERVES TO BE FIRED for the way that she treats Curbside guests. Went last Tuesday and was literally yelled at for trying to pull a chair up to a table. Rather than telling us in a civilized manner that she had a party waiting and couldn't give us the chair, she berated our entire table in front of the entire patio. I am not exaggerating here. I've served/bartended for 5 years and would NEVER treat a guest the way she treated us. I tried to point out that she was out of line and she just continued yelling so I left. My friends still at the table told me that after I left everyone on the patio began sharing with each other how she had treated them rudely and given them terrible service all night. If you can't handle the stress of serving without being rude to guests, you have no business working in a restaurant. Girl, BYE. My entire table of friends refuses to come in as long as you're still...
