This is an amazingly Beautiful first hand, 2nd hand shop! If I could give it 10☆'s I would! I stumbled (Didi Chisholm has her finger on the pulse) in on a day that they were having their annual rummage sale. So, picture, little bins overflowing with Beautiful unique threads, gorgeous accessories and all of these aaahhhmazing women patiently waiting for the doors to open. Communal, Tribal, Spiritual? All of the above! The doors open and the treasuretrove bins are unveiled. All hands begin to dig, oohs and aahs can be heard amidst this invigorating experience. I got a angelic vintage black slip dress that Marilyn Monroe would have surely worn on any given day for $5. Ok, so now I venture inside... My heart starts to beat faster, because, I have stepped into Solomon's Mines!!!!! Anyone who shops, frugally and responsibly for Fabulous clothes will hear my call! I walked out with deer skin chocolate brown gloves, a brass bracelet embellished with baubles and a floor length camel wool, horn buckled, belted coat that would effortlessly make it's way down any runway in Milan!! Now, this had such an effect on me, that when I had to return again a few weeks later, Halcyon was on my list of places to go (I actually went twice on this visit) I didn't find anything this time, but I still was recharged. Halcyon Days, I have deemed this experience. I stumbled in to kill some time in October while my Grandmother was dying. I had a piece on layaway at Halcyon Vintage in Richmond Virginia. Here's the story: This company literally just stole my money, I had a beautiful piece on layaway, called in to be told the piece was re-sold and just got off the phone with the ridiculous owner who is refusing to refund me as she claims I signed something stating I had a month. I didn't SIGN ANYTHING and specifically asked when the payment was due and the owner assured me I had nothing to worry about as long as payments were made. This is the biggest scam ever as I was NEVER even called or reminded that a "deadline" was put in place. This is heart breaking because I'd been a supporter of this company for years and was extremely excited about purchasing this piece. DO NOT SHOP HERE. -- and if you guys could of heard the amount of white privilege being implemented on the phone just now....I paid for 75% of the price the item was listed for ALREADY. This place is TRASH for this! - She Doesn't even have records of my payments or any type of ledger leading up...

I went into this store today and loved it. The sales staff all greeted me warmly. They were not pushy or rude in any way. I found some great clothes from the 1950s/1960s era. They have such a big selection of dresses and skirts. I also purchased some beautiful original scarves. Then, I saw their jewelry. Oh my goodness! Beautiful! All of their clothing and jewelry were very very reasonably priced, when compared to online stores and Etsy stores. I cannot wait to wear all of the gorgeous things that I got there!! Just FYI, they do have two little dogs that are in the store, but they are good. I had my 8 month old godson and they only sniffed him once and left him alone. I LOVE this store. I hate that I live out of town! Thanks...
