El Mejor — Restaurant in Richmond

Food was not good. But it was hot and I recieved it quickly. So I went back last night with my family. I watched a delivery man come in and wait for 45 minutes for the food he was supposed to deliver. I started paying attention and thought it was amazing how they stood there and talked about him in a very rude and condescending way. I speak Mexican fluently, it is not true Spanish, and listened how they talked about gringos and how they are bad people. I looked around the restaurant and saw that the 9 patrons in the restaurant were ALL gringos. I will never come to this establishment again and I encourage all gringos to do the same. The amount of disrespect was overwhelming and the man took it in stride. After he left they continued to talk about him. I think it is amazing that the people who work there think know one can understand them. Appalling to say the least. If I could leave a negative star...

My friends and I have been coming here since the restaurant first opened. We have had dinner there once and multiple lunches. Overall I would say that we visited this restaurant at least 30 times. We love the price of the buffet. But over the last couple of months of going there the food has seemed to lose its quality. I have noticed the quesadillas and fajitas having gristle in the meat. The Buffet usually runs from 11 AM to 3 PM. It’s best to go early otherwise a lot of the food becomes cold or rather scarce on the buffet.

Overall the biggest problem at this restaurant seems to be the service. The older man that works here is always very friendly and polite to the customers, but the younger man with piercings is always somewhat rude. Very Non-Professional, not loyal and the man-bun waiter is terrible. He first starts off by not bringing drinks, then follows with not bringing chips and salsa. Forgive me if I’m wrong but I thought the chips and salsa was part of the Mexican dining experience. Have been going to the place several months at least 3 times per week. Affordable but not fresh as it could be. My daughter had a couple 1x1 pieces of water melon that I asked for a box so she could take. The man bun acted like I was going to try and load the box from buffet and said he’d have to charge. I said I’d pay for the damn slice of damn skunked watermelon. Must had charged $10.00 because it was $24.00. Normally 13.00. Needless to say he did not receive a tip. The other gentlemen however are much better servers and do not poorly serve the customer.
