Hello Google Review Readers, we just wanted to share what we consider to be the best customer service experience we've had at a fast food outlet full stop anywhere in the world.
We will start off by saying that as a family we've always wanted to go to a White Castle for a number of reasons (primarily as huge Harold and Kumar Fans) but also because we had recently seen the documentary on how the company started and what it's values are still like to this day.
That aside this review is all about the wonderful experience we had at our first ever White Castle Visit (definitely not the last). We were immediately greeted at the store by the lovely Armond who served us at the front counter. He is a lovely young guy with a sunny disposition and a really warm and friendly attitude.
Once we got our order sorted out (thanks Armond for your helping in picking the best things for 3 newby Aussie Customers) we were approached by the lovely Rachel & Cara (hope we spelt that correctly).
They told us that they just loved our Aussie Accents and proceeded to give us a White Castle Mug, Shirt and Ball Cap as a memento of our trip to their restaurant. We have to say that we soooooo enjoyed the food, your little burgers and Onion Rings are the bomb and everything we hoped they would be but the real standout for us were the staff.
We spent what seemed like half and hour talking to Rachel, Cara, Armond & Kathleen. They made our entire day and trip one of a kind. It's wonderful staff like this that allow us into their lives and into our hearts that make the USA our favorite travel destination.
To the owners of White Castle all we can say is that it's beautiful people like this that make you guys the BEST of any fast food chain. If your not already you should certainly consider paying your staff a whole lot more than basic wage because it's their personalities that make your establishment feel like...
Read moreThis was my first time at White Castle. Usually I skip the long line in the drive through because it is always backed up to the entrance. But today the other people in the car with me, had somehow convinced me that it was something different and I would not regret it. So after sitting in the drive through for about 15 minutes we had finally made it to the speaker to order. After sitting there long enough for everyone else in the car to order, I could not decide on anything specific, so I had the same thing as everyone else, and thought why not, they all ordered the same thing. After another 10 minutes wait in the drive thru we were leaving with our order and the car smelling heavenly. Driving at this point was not an option, every other person in the car was stuffing their face but me and the sounds they were making, made my stomach make sounds of its own. So after another long wait, sitting in a parking spot in another businesses parking lot, and finishing every single thing I had ordered. My belly was full and I needed to relax for a few minutes before taking off driving again. The food was great. It had exceeded my expectations and I learned that the long line in White Castle parking lot is always full because it really is worth the wait. The people were nice, polite, and above all patient, (with me taking 10 minutes to decide.) Our order was correct, the place looked clean and everyone inside working gave me a welcoming feel. It's was one of the long but best experiences I have ever had in a drive thru at a fast...
Read moreAs with any chain, the french fries must be tried. However, White Castle's fries did not stand out among the madding crowd. As crinkle-cut classics go, they were passable but forgettable. But they aren't known for the fries — they're known for the sliders. Unlike other fast-food chains, White Castle steam-grills the tiny square patties with diced onions, giving the burgers an onion-laden aroma. It's a flavor with no parallel. For onion haters, this is anathema; for onion lovers, a tiny, beautiful thing. Trust us. If there's one flaw of the sliders, it's their spartan construction. With only patty, onion, and pickle, there's only so much to the slider. Enter the double-cheese slider. With the simple addition of another patty, two slices of comfortingly vibrant American cheese, and a middle bun, the slider is instantly elevated. The cheese adds richness and depth to the onion-centric sandwich, and feels more substantial both in hand and appetite. Where White Castle falls is its deviation from the classics. The veggie slider is "chock full of carrots, string beans, zucchini, peas, broccoli and spinach," yet these vegetables are indistinguishable within the suspect patty. It's mystery meat — but all mystery, no meat....
