The Cake Box — Restaurant in Ridgefield

I am severely disappointed In cake box. We have bought many dozen cupcakes from this place for numerous occasions. Never had a problem till today. We ordered a cake for my sons birthday party, my wife spoke with a woman on the phone and she said the knew exactly what we wanted in a small circus themed cake. Fast forward to time to pick up the cake... what a mess. Shotty fondant work that was hanging off the cake, weird teal and orange funky coloring, overall a thrown together cake. When my wife tried to express her unhappiness with the situation. She was met with a too bad sort of additude. She came home in tears over this. When I tried to call and speak to someone I got the same thing blaming us the customer for the shotty work. Says because because it was a phone order And we didn't spend enough money is why we got what we got. Customer service was horrible. And I have never spoken to one of my customers in that tone. Poor quality work and bad customer service. Basically we were told we were not worth their time. Very disappointing . When my wife then posted on their Facebook about the problem all they do is delete the post. Very mature. I recommend you steer clear of this place. If you need a real bakery...

This place has amazing cupcakes, cookies, tea cakes & monkey bread. I've never had the cakes but they look so delicious and if they are anywhere near as good as the other items they sell, well, good luck with keeping your weight down. I found this little gem because I was looking for a gluten free bakery for treats for my kids who are both Celiacs and one of them is also dairy free (he calls it 'fun free' & 'taste free'...obviously unhappy with the choices he has). It's been challenging to say the least but the Cake Box has a division that caters to the GF/DF/Vegan community and that makes this Mom very happy as well as the kids, who by the way are both college age (1 graduated this yr). The choices are abundant but call ahead because they are very popular. My kids love the Monkey Bread, Oatmeal Raisin & Chocolate Chip cookies as well as the amazing flavors & varieties of cupcakes. Rest assured non-GF/DF/Vegan people (such as myself) they have plenty of yummy treats for us as well. One of my favorites just happens to be GF is the Ricotta Tea Cakes. OMG...I could live on those. Was excited to be getting gluten free cupcakes to celebrate my bday. I called ahead to order so they'd be ready when I got there. I had to keep pulling over to give her my cc number over the phone multiple times. The first time she said had it wrong, the next said she didn't get all the numbers. I couldn't be late for where I was going. I told her I would pay when I got there. I drove 35 minutes to Cake Box. I showed up with my credit card in hand and I was told my order was not ready and then she asked me what kind of cupcakes they were so clearly she did not have it written down. After I told her she started to show me the display Cupcakes that I could choose from which none of them were what I had ordered. If I had waited for them I would have been late to where I was going so I had to leave without any Cupcakes. I was really hoping to have Cupcakes to celebrate my birthday. The people I met up with after We're shocked that I had nothing. After I had planned this and drove out of the way to get cupcakes from there. I made a mistake choosing to order my birthday Cupcakes from there. I will try...
