Where to begin. Ordered delivery for dinner. The driver called me, I don't even know why, because the only word he knew was delivery. Kept grunting at me on the phone. I kept asking if he was lost and he just grunted and said nothing and breathed heavily. So awkward. I was standing at my door and he finally found my house. I told him on the phone I was sick, just leave my food outside. He made me open the door anyway. I brought the bag to the kitchen and it reeked of cigarette smoke. Wish I didn't pay him the 20% tip in advance.
As far as the food, it was so bad. Every roll that had salmon, which was all but one, tasted off. I think the salmon wasn't fresh at all. I'm a huge fan of salmon and this was really bad. The rolls that had eel, which I am also a big fan of, the eel tasted very off as well. I ordered a side of eel sauce, so I tried to mask the taste with the sauce but it was ridiculously oversalted. I barely ate much of the sushi and ordered a lot. Spent so much money, mind you I noticed they charge more on GrubHub for each roll than on their website menu, and it was all a huge waste. Afterwards, I couldn't get the disgusting taste of old salmon out of my mouth no matter what I did and became very nauseous. I don't know if the food did it or I just couldn't handle the disgusting taste that wouldn't go away and all the nausea, but I ended up throwing up a lot.
I contacted GrubHub and got a full refund. 20 minutes after I spoke with GrubHub, Kumo started calling my phone. I didn't answer, they called twice. A few hours later, I received a text from them saying they apologize for what happened with my food, and that they informed the driver of my complaint and nothing like that will happen again. It won't because I will never eat there or order from...
Read moreCalled ahead and asked if this restaurant was gluten free. Was told that they have many options for gluten free sushi with gluten free soy sauce and spicy mayo. Made the reservation as my young daughter has celiac and loves sushi. As a precautionary we also brought our own gluten free imitation crab/sealegs. After trying to find parking for close to 15 min we were able to get seated. The waitress came by and brought us Gluten free soy sauce and told us their crab is gluten free bc it’s not real crab. Not knowing about the wheat they use so we asked her to cook using ours. They were able to accommodate but not before her and the sushi cooks started to giggle thinking it was funny when it’s not. They also didn’t have gluten free spicy mayo or sauce like they said. That was the last time we saw our waitress. We had another person deliver our meal and then never came back for drink refills or ask if we wanted anything else. We had to flag someone down for the check. The place felt like we were an inconvenience to them and they couldn’t be bothered. I do not recommend this place and do not consider them...
Read moreI went to this joint a week ago for dinner around 6:30 PM. I was the only patron in the dining room. I ordered hot green tea, miso soup, spring roll, vegetable fried rice and seafood tempura entrée. In other words, all hot dishes. The service was okay. EVERYTHING that was supposed to be hot came out lukewarm at best. I was particularly displeased with the temperate of the chicken fried rice. The rice tasted over done (almost mushy, gross), and yet the dish was tepid. Nothing was to temperature. I could not remember eating Japanese food that tasted this terrible. It was my first and last time eating...
