I had not been to a McDonald's in years, but took my grandson because that's what he asked to have for lunch. I was quickly reminded why I have avoided McDonald's and those like it.
I arrived and went to the counter. There was only one group in the place other than us. They were sitting in the corner and already eating their meal. Two workers are between the register and the kitchen making chit-chat. I wait patiently for say 3 to 5 minutes. I finally clear my throat in hopes they might acknowledge our presence. One says to me that they are asking their customers to use the kiosk. I comment that they apparently do not wish to be bothered by the customer. I step over to the kiosk and the worker tells me to simply follow the instructions.
One of the kiosk steps required that I include the number of our table so the food can be delivered there. I did. I distinctly remember it was 104. After waiting a while, I hear our number - 286 - called out. I look and one of the workers is looking directly at me making eye contact. I remain seated and simply look back. After a minute, the worker comes back to the little counter area where the food is staged and again calls out 286. We make eye contact again. This time I start walking toward her and I remind her she said to follow the instructions provided by the kiosk. Part of those instructions was the food would be brought to our table. I make disappointment known and point out that they apparently do not follow their own instructions. All I get is a stare. I pick up my food and take it back to my table.
Before leaving, I approach the counter again to ask for a refill of tea. I cannot get anyone to acknowledge me. A gentleman at the counter chimes in and says he's been standing there for 5 minutes and they apparently do not want to wait on him. I tell him of what I was told about the customers needing to use the kiosk. He replies at an increased volume, "if they want my money, they'll wait on me in person." No one makes any effort to assist the gentleman. I finally step between the counter and the register area to peer into the back and holler asking if someone could please help me get a refill of tea. If one can gauge how a business appreciates its customers by a look, I certainly knew how much they appreciated me.
McDonald's has lost its way. They are focused on processes, efficiencies and the like, but have lost all regard for the customer experience. If they meet their demise, it may well be what they deserve. As for me, I will go out of my way to patron eating establishments that appreciate my business and make me feel as...
Read moreI honestly thought this was a pretty good McDonald’s based on the location and since there’s very few in Rincon, but the customer service here is literally so non-existent that it’s absolutely mind-blowing.
I came inside to get my order, and they saw that I needed assistance because I was standing directly behind the counter looking at them and they refused to acknowledge me. One of them made eye contact with me multiple times but never came over. It was hardly even busy, and they weren’t just doing this to me, but they were doing it to everyone who walked inside until a woman came out and started taking the lead and talking to the rest of us to see what we needed.
It was quite clear that it was nothing but high-schoolers / children working in the kitchen and I’m a firm believer that nobody should be discriminated by age, but these kids were a prime example of why people are prejudice against younger people working at jobs. There was no etiquette at all, and they were making inappropriate and childish comments about other customers thinking that it wasn’t heard by all of us, but it definitely was. I, myself, even heard comments about them picking on how I looked.
Avoid this establishment at all costs. The general manager should be ashamed for allowing their establishment to be ran like this. You will experience a long wait on food when it’s not even busy and I can guarantee you that the food is not worth the wait for an establishment that have...
Read moreI was hired on at this location, and from day one was treated hostile by co workers. Went to shift managers with questions about my job and the buck was passed..... The shift managers were late opening the doors for us to clock in, sometimes 25 minutes late, unacceptable in my book. I over heard a co-worker at the drive thru, she was telling the customer in a sarcastic way, that she was yelling and if she would stop yelling, she might could understand her. I have heard a co-worker curse the Store manager for a B.... just because she assigned her side work to clean baseboards, and call The Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager the devils in the place. I will have to say, The Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager are the only leadership in the entire business, but when they are gone its like a zoo, with mostly cursing and cellphones. What drew the line was cursing me out and another co-worker using greasy utensils to make parfaits with even tho I told her it had to be washed and sanitized, not just rinsed off. She then proceeded to tell me why don't you just shut your mouth. It seems impossible to do the best job you can for your employer, and concern yourself with things that shouldn't go on in the work place, trying to protect the business by going to management with these concerns, when clearly the owner of the franchise doesn't give a hoot about correcting them.. My advice is don't work for this Mcdonald's location, you will...
