Update 7/17/2023: I appreciate you making this right and sending me coupons via snail mail. I’ve been boycotting this location on principal because I was so salty about the last experience. I’m happy to say that I will be coming back more regularly now.
I went to Denny’s for the BOGO burger promotion that was sent to me direct via email. And was good for today 5/28. There was a coupon on my rewards account for the BOGO burgers. I did not screenshot it because I didn’t think I needed to.
I told my server about it and showed the email before we ordered. She talked to her manager and she said as long as I have a rewards account, it’s good (which I do have an account) hence the promotional emails.
She gave me no indication that this location does not participate in the promotion.
We got two burgers, the same kind, avocado bacon burgers.
Went to go pay and I showed the front my email and my rewards account. There was no coupon to scan. I had not used it earlier in the day so idk where it went. You’re welcome to check my account activity.
Manager was called. She had no idea how to solve the issue and told me to write to corporate. She asked ME if this Denny's participated in the promo, and I said :
"Well I have the email here asking with my account and this is my 'home' Dennys. I don't know why they'd send me promotional emails that didn't apply to me. No one gave me any indication that you DIDN'T participate before I ordered and I was clear about why I was here."
I'm happy to talk to someone over the phone if you need further explanation and details. I can also send screenshots of emails and receipts.
A fair resolution for me would be :
-Please send me a gift card for $13.69 which is the value of the other burger. I would rather spend that money on one of your steaks, which are surprisingly great.
-If you can please work with your marketing team to send emails to customers for promotions they can actually redeem / is applicable to their 'home' location.
-Train/ better inform your staff of how corporate promotions work. The ladies I dealt with were nice, but clueless/unhelpful in that regard.
I would greatly appreciate your consideration and follow through on this matter. I think they are reasonable requests and will settle for the first one being fulfilled, if all are not possible.
Thank you, Muriel Palanca

Read moreThey don't honor the $5.99 Diner deals that are on all the advertisements. In fact, this Denny's refuses to participate in any corporate promotions. The last couple times I went there, I guess the cook was just not having a good day or something? Our food was not made according to our specifications, it was mediocre and not up to the standards that I was used to seeing from Denny's. "I can make better food at home." Is not a sentence that one should say about a restaurant. (Unless you're a culinary school graduate or something) If the food was $5.99 I could accept a lower quality of food and I would still eat there probably more frequently than fast food. But no such deals are available at this establishment. They hardly put any cinnamon on the cinnamon crusted pancakes. They are just a plain pancake with a DOT of cinnamon in the center. The burgers and steaks are dry af. The owner of this establishment has instructed staff to skimp on toppings and water down condiments. And fate help you if you should put a special order for anything. It's at least a 50% chance SOMETHING about your special order will be wrong. You ever noticed that wait staff doesn't even write down orders anymore? Way too easy to mess up if you don't even bother to write it down. Or even if they do write down- they just put the basic they don't put all the special orders add-ins or subtractions. So when they come back with your order you have to make them run back and forth five times because they keep forgetting something. I feel bad for doing it but it's their fault for not writing it down. I wish that the DM or GM or RM or whatever would come down on them and enforce corporate policy. I wish that their in-house managers would do something about the cooks and the wait staff. Also, why does it take so long to get anything when they are not busy? If there is 3 tables or fewer of customer, it shouldn't take 30min+ to have our orders taken, and it shouldn't take longer than an hour to get the food. Do they only have one cook? Is the only cook the manager who isn't even qualified...
