---- Introduction: ---- Falcon's Lair in Ripon, California, is a relatively new restaurant I discovered through Yelp and recommendations from friends. Known for its unique features such as lighting, atmosphere, and setup, I visited and saw what it offered.
---- Atmosphere: ---- Outside: The restaurant is in a remote area, giving the impression of being in the middle of nowhere. However, upon arrival, the building appears new and well-maintained. There is ample parking, including ADA spaces, and a beautiful, calming front lawn area. Inside: Upon entering Falcon's Lair, you are greeted with an upscale environment. The requirement for moderate dress adds to the restaurant's respectful ambiance. The interior features comfortable booths with leather backstitching and soft cushions, and the chairs are equally comfortable. The lighting is dim with a warm, yellowish tone, creating a cozy and upscale Vegas-style atmosphere.
---- Service: ---- The service started off excellently, with the host being very accommodating. He quickly arranged a booth that could comfortably seat my party, which included a service animal. The server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and frequently checked on us. They provided detailed information about the dishes, which enhanced our dining experience.
---- Cleanliness: ---- The restaurant is very well-kept and clean. The floors, tables, chairs, and other furniture are meticulously maintained, contributing to a pleasant dining experience.
---- Food Quality: ---- Asparagus: The dish featuring mushrooms and a spicy kick was delicious. It was very spicy, which might not be for everyone, but I enjoyed it immensely. I would rate it a 5 out of 5. Truffle Garlic Fries: The fries were thin, crispy on the outside, and gooey on the inside. They were well-seasoned with truffle and garlic, making them a standout dish. A 5 out of 5. Porterhouse Steak: The steak, cooked according to the chef's recommendation, was superb. Topped with a chili garlic sauce, it was flavorful and tender, better than many steakhouses I've tried. It's a solid 5 out of 5. Lamb Lollipops: These were cooked to perfection and covered in a green aioli sauce. The meat was tender and had no aftertaste, making it a delight. Another 5 out of 5. Chicken Pasta: Though I didn't try it, my fiancé loved it. The sauce was well done, and the chicken was moist and flavorful. The homemade pasta added to the dish's quality.
---- Desserts: ---- Avocado Dessert: The avocado dessert was terrific, well-balanced, and featured high-quality coffee and ice cream. It was a delightful combination that I thoroughly enjoyed. Crème Brulé: The crème Brulé was outstanding, with a silky-smooth pudding and a perfectly caramelized top. It was an excellent finish to the meal.
---- Service Dog Accommodation: ---- The service dog accommodation was excellent. The staff ensured we had a booth with ample room for my service animal and were respectful and accommodating.
---- Value for Money: ---- Falcon's Lair offers an upscale dining experience at reasonable prices. The quality of the food and the exceptional service make it excellent value for the money.
---- Overall Experience: ---- Falcon's Lair is a hidden gem in Ripon, California. Its cozy, upscale atmosphere, excellent service, and high-quality food make it a must-visit. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return with a larger party to try more of...
Read moreFood and cocktails were excellent 👌 This restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Great atmosphere. You feel like you are in a 1920s movie. It's dark and elegant. No detail was missed. They had a black and white motion picture playing in the dining room. Service was good, everyone was super nice, but service was a bit slow. Waited a while for drinks, then waited a while to put in order. Food came out quick (from the runners) and then waited a while to get check. Forgot i wanted to try dessert because we wanted to check out the lounge before they closed. I think there was only two waitresses for the dining room area, they might have been serving lounge guests also which you can eat there too. The Bel Air burger was absolutely delicious. Probably best burger I've tried in a while. Garlic fries were perfect and delicious. Vodka sauce pasta was really good could have been a spicy to cut the sweetness, and the bone-in wings were yummy.
The lounge was beautiful. Felt like a speakeasy you'd find in Vegas. Really fancy. Nice velvet chairs. Not open seating, but the bartender was okay serving me a drink at the bar since we came from the dining area. The drink was delicious and strong I had two of the same one with dinner and one at the lounge. I'm not a light weight, but the drinks got me a good buzz. Really beautiful place. Will definitely be back. Next time I would like to go chill in the lounge and have the charcuterie bird cage. It looked pretty amazing from what I seen at...
Read moreSome people dine out hoping to relive a microwave meal at a fraction of the price. If you’re looking for bland, predictable, and deeply uninspired food, Falcon’s Lair might not be your scene — but for those of us with functioning taste buds and an appreciation for creativity, it’s an absolute gem.
Yes, the vodka pasta has a kick — it’s supposed to. It’s called flavor, not Ragu. The steak? Cooked perfectly and plated with intention. If you’re the type who expects fries with a filet, may I kindly recommend a drive-thru?
As for the Lavender Gin Fizz, it’s a best-seller for a reason. The egg whites add texture and body — it’s mixology, not a Capri Sun. If the smell of fresh lavender offends you, that’s a you problem. Personally, I found it refreshing, complex, and unforgettable.
The charcuterie board showcased artisanal cuts and thoughtfully paired accompaniments. If you’re upset about missing pickles (seriously?), I suggest reviewing your grocery list, not a chef’s curated selection.
Lastly, shout-out to the staff — warm, attentive, and polished. The atmosphere is moody, elevated, and transportive. Falcon’s Lair isn’t trying to be your average gastropub. It’s aiming for something smarter — and it lands.
But hey, if you’re just looking for something that “tastes good and costs less,” Applebee’s...
