Reefs Car Wash — Local services in Ripon

I joined their membership program on 08/18/25, and less than two weeks later (today, 08/26/25) I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a local business. Their Google listing shows they open at 7:45am, so I arrived around 8:30am on a Tuesday expecting to get a wash. There were some cones out, but nothing indicating they were closed. I cautiously pulled forward, bumping one of the cones, and the owner came out.

Instead of politely explaining the situation, he was extremely rude and disrespectful. I tried asking if they were open, but he never gave me a straight answer, just shook his head and told me to back my car out. When I tried again to ask about their hours, he completely ignored me, rolled his eyes, and continued talking loudly on speaker phone in another language.

I wasn’t even upset about the cone — accidents happen — what upset me was being treated with such poor customer service, especially by the owner himself. This is not how a business in Ripon should operate. They advertise hours they don’t honor, and they treat paying members with zero respect.

I decided to try this car wash despite reading the bad reviews because I thought they were being dramatic. When I got to the front, two girls started spraying my car. I rolled my window down to ask them not to spray it, as I've had my car chipped by those sprays before. She stopped spraying and directed me to put my car in neutral. However, once I started to roll away, she and the other girl picked up the spray guns again and began spraying my car. I didn’t want to roll my window down again because I didn’t want to get wet. After the wash, I went to vacuum my car and noticed it was still really dirty and had soap on the back half. Worse, there was a chip on my hood from the spray guns. These sprays are terrible, especially for cars that haven’t been painted recently. The spray guns catch on any rock chips in your hood, allowing water to get under and blow off your paint. I called them to let them know what happened and the guy working the window apologized and said he would talk to her but really you shouldn’t have to ask more than once. I thought I would try the other car wash across the freeway. Never again. They tried to talk me into a membership so I thought it was free. They said no we need a dollar to we need your credit card or debit card to charge that $1. I said no I did not bring them with me but I do have a dollar they would not take my dollar. Okay they had to have the cards I said no I'm not bringing my cards like in 4 or 5 more hours like you suggested. I have things I have to do and I just would like to have my car washed you guys wouldn't work with me wouldn't give an inch or a mile or whatever you call it. Disappointed that I left there with a dirty car. I will be loyal to Reefs. They were just trying to talk me into a membership that we didn't want thank you Reefs for making my car nice and shiny I'll be back. They wanted me to do a 40 mile round trip just so they could charge a dollar on one...
