ANGELOS PIZZA - RIVERDALE — Restaurant in Riverdale

Okkkkkk… My little sister (whom I am always checking in with, Yvana) has been telling me about Angelo’s Pizza forever and I have been trying for months to make my way here… Being from up north (Boston) we appreciate the construct of a good slice of pizza and she swore to me that Angelo’s Pizza was pizza done right. As such, I had to put it to the test.

I was in the area and decided to pull up to Angelo’s Pizza. It was perfect timing as it was empty inside so I was able to scroll the menu and not feel rushed. As it was my first time, I wanted to keep it simple and take in all that Angelo’s Pizza had to offer me. Yep! I was putting them to the test. The basic pepperoni test.

I ordered a 10” Pepperoni Pizza and had a seat to await my order.

Angelo’s Pizza is small but has two booths in case you did want to eat inside. There is also a really long bench for those (like me) who choose to wait inside. The location was very clean and everything behind the counter was in order and well maintained and organized.

After about 16 minutes, my pizza was done and I was out the door.

Babeeeeeeeeeeeee… I knew I was in for a treat from the aroma that was coming out of the box. Angelo’s Pizza seasoned this pizza to perfection to the point that even the aroma had flavor. Yes, it was that serious.

Upon taking my first bite into that ooey gooey cheesy melty hot fresh slice of pizza, my entire body transitioned into an expression of bliss. This pizza was on point. I’m talking about, The flavor The crust The sauce The sauce to crust ratio The sauce to cheese ratio The cheese to crust ratio The crust the bake time ratio The care the customer satisfaction ratio EVERYTHING was spot on and I am now hooked on Angelo’s Pizza. I ordered a small pizza at 7 pm while i was home they said 15 minutes i get to the Walmart to pickup my order got done like 7:20 i then go to Angelo’s i didnt leave until 8pm it took for me to tell them to cancel my order in order for them to start making my food not to mention when the girl came to take my order she had dough all over her hand she handled the money then went right back in the back to finish cooking not stopping to wash her hands or use gloves smh that should’ve been it for me then but nope i then ordered from them on Sunday i got an xlarge cheese and 10 all flats wings ( they charged me $4 for all flats $2 per order of wings ) i get my5 bbq wings and 5 garlic Parmesan wings it was not all flats and the wings had a funny taste ( like they were spoiled) fast forward i got sick in the hospital rn and the Dr said it’s food poisoning I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. Crazy thing is their pizza is good af HOT THO aint...

I will forever come back here as long as Jesus allows me to live. I called up here, first time, got greeted not so kindly, but I’ve worked in many food industry settings so I understand how much of a set back and how disappointing over the phone orders/no shows can be, despite that, when I came in to order in person, I was greeted warmly by a young woman, very patient with my curiosity, amazing stewardship, man, let me tell you, that big ol’ New York slice of pizza had me nostalgia watching teenage mutant ninja turtles (1991 version to be exact para mi gente) the penne alla vodka pasta which does come with some choice seasonings, bacon and chicken for ppl who may be allergic, had me RACING to the next bite as if my mother, grandmother or grandfather had cooked it.
