My little sister has been telling me about Las Cuatro Milpas Atlanta forever, and I have been trying to make my way there. I finally had the chance to visit Las Cuatro Milpas Atlanta and I am so happy I did.
Pulling into Las Cuatro Milpas Atlanta, the parking is kind of tight; however, there are quite a few spaces, just be prepared to squeeze. LoL! The front is all glass which allows you to see inside before getting into the restaurant. I was excited to see it was spacious and clean.
As I got inside of Las Cuatro Milpas Atlanta, the aroma that captured my nose had me ready to order one of everything. As I looked over the menu, there were sooooooooooooo many optionssssssssssss and I had to take a moment to take it all in. It was a battle between the Tacos, Burrito, or a Quesadilla.
I got to the register and decided on the Birria Tacos with a side of Chips and Salsa. As I placed my order, the young lady asked me if I wanted everything on my tacos, as I began to say yes, she started naming what everything was and she said ‘avocado’ and I was like ‘hmmmmmm.’ Avocado on birria… why not… YES, everything!
I placed my order and took a seat and waited for my order to be finished.
Once my order was done, I got my food, checked my plate and oh my goodness… It smelled and looked absolutely amazingggggggg. The birria tacos were so meaty and juicy, The aroma was so intoxicating. You could literally smell the seasonings. My taste buds were ready to taste.
When it came time to eat, I took a bite and fell in love. I now understand why they put the avocado inside the birria. The pairing of the fresh avocado with the slow-cooked, well-seasoned beef made for a creamy, flavorful, mouth-pleasing moment of joy.
The traditional avocado flavor profile of mild (texture), creamy, and buttery, with subtle nutty notes take the back seat to the complex and savory flavor of the birria meat. The dominance of the various dried chiles, herbs, and spices adds layers of earthy, smoky, and spicy notes to the taco, and that’s before you dip it into the consommé.
The Chips were fresh and had the perfect amount of salt and crunch. The mild salsa was slightly bland; however, the spicy salsa was delicious and full of flavor and texture.
Overall, my trip to Las Cuatro Milpas Atlanta was AMAZING, and I will be back again for the Birria as well as to try everything else...
Read moreLamb Burrito is good. It has a few bones in it so be careful with your Strong bite down, but that’s how I know is real when it has a few bones in it, lol.
Today my 4 beef check tacos were loaded with fat. Very noticeable fat. Not sure if they have a new cook that’s not paying attention or what but it was so obviously fatty that I thought I was being pranked. If you cook meat with that much fat on it, you’re not cleaning it properly. Surely my tacos aren’t supposed to be loaded with fat only. Ate 2 of the 4 after removing most of the fat I could.
They have pictures now of the food. I wish they they had snapper or grouper. I thought this place was a liquor store. As often as I go to the Walmart I always passed it up until I ordered it on Uber eats and realized how authentic they taste. I traveled to Puerto Valarta on my honeymoon and these taste very similar to the street tacos we had there in Mexico. Very authentic taste as advertised. Even with a long line they moved us through fairly quickly. It’s a very small place but some people order and sit in the car for a few minutes. The tacos are the best thing and the quesadillas look good as well. don’t expect many good vegetable sides, they do have french fries and rice of course. The dipping soup is good with the tacos but I agree with some other reviews that they could use a little bit more seasoning on pretty much everything. Surely we don’t need high blood pressure, but surely it should have some seasoning. The lamb, Cow head and pork are the best because even if they are not seasoned they still have flavor. I think a three dollar taco is technically fair but you need about six of them to get full. The same taco in Mexico is one dollar each. I’m not in Mexico, lol so this will be my new spot plus is right by the Walmart so I can just pop in. The Tortas sandwich was just OK. The bread seemed to be a croissant and I’d choose a different bread. They wrap it up nice, I almost ate the paper lol. See pictures. It’s definitely fairly priced. I had to try a sandwich at a taco spot. i’d highly recommend this place for...
Read moreI normally don’t leave negative reviews, but after what I went through, I feel it’s only right to warn others.
I visited this restaurant on June 20 , 2025 and ordered two birria chicken tacos. The food looked fine at first, but within just a few hours of eating, I started to feel extremely nauseous. That nausea quickly turned into violent vomiting, stomach cramps, chills, and nonstop diarrhea. By the middle of the night, things got so bad I had to go to urgent care. The doctor confirmed I had food poisoning—most likely caused by contaminated meat or improper food handling.
To make matters worse, I hadn’t eaten anything else that day, so there’s no doubt the birria chicken tacos were the cause. This was honestly one of the worst food-related experiences I’ve ever had. I was sick for days, missed work, and felt completely drained. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
Please be careful if you’re thinking of eating here. The food might look good on the outside, but clearly there are serious issues behind the scenes when it comes to food safety and cleanliness. I won’t be returning, and I strongly recommend others think twice before...
