This was one of the WORST,WORST,WORST dining experiences we've ever had! My wife ordered a 10" with onion, green peppers and basil. I ordered a 10" with pineapple and black olives, an order of cheesy bread and a couple of drinks... 50 bucks. Which I could have stomached if the food was good... we ordered it to eat there, after sitting there for 5 minutes, first, looking for a clean chair... which there were none, the outside(only) eating area was disgustingly, deplorably... filthy, the chairs seats were dirty... looked like they'd never been cleaned, the arm trails on the chairs were so dirty I was afraid to move them... the floor also looked like it had never been cleaned and the smell of the dirty trash cans made me feel like I was sitting next to a dirty dumpster, not to mention the traffic noise... so we decided to get our food to go... Then the pizzas... it looked like they pre-make cheese pizzas and when you order, they throw the toppings on and maybe put it in the oven for a minute... pizza was hot, but my pineapple and olive were cold, like they'd just come out of the can... my wife's onions were raw... no browning whatsoever and the basil leaves were still whole and not even wilted. Then the taste, bland and no flavor... to top it off, the l guys working there didn't wear gloves and had their noses out of their mask... given the complete lack of cleanliness of the place, absolutely disgusted my wife, when we got home, she tried one slice... bite off her pizza and decided to make a sandwich. The cheesy bread was also raw. What would it take to get a pressure washer and wash down the eating areas and furniture and trash cans... this is a place completely mismanaged and where the owners and employees don't care. I've been to New York many times and this is an embarrassment to call this New York style pizza... Will NEVER return or order from this...
Read moreI have ordered numerous times at this place. It has always been somewhat good. Their pizza crust could be thicker for me, but it’s good for my son. I have been a customer of theirs since I was a kid, but I have recently gone back to them in the last six months. They are not the same, but they are still good. I order a good amount of pizza in the last six months so I have become a good client I believe. But here I ordered a pizza tonight and I ordered it the same way I always ordered it and I’ve never been told differently a large pepperoni pizza thick crust that’s it. My order took 15 minutes to get here and when it came, the bottom of my pizza was burnt I called the place and they tell me that they don’t do thick crust that they have regular crust. I asked them if they could take a larger pizza because they say they measure out their dough and make it to a different pizza to be thicker and they say no. Fine But to top it off, when I called to tell them that the pizza they sent me and the lady took down the order wrong and they sent me a thin crust. Pizza was burnt on the bottom. They have me write down a number and text the number a picture of the pizza. Which again is fine I do that and they tell me that they’re sending me a new one out great thank you. But then they tell me that I’ve been waiting now. It’s been about an hour and 45 minutes. My child who has been hungry has to wait because they want the pizza back after I sent them a picture this is petty and childish and I will never order pizza from them because my son is still hungry and I still have to wait another 45 minutes for my pizza. For this, I rate this restaurant very low and I will never return to this place ever again. It is sad because as I said, I was a young girl growing up to this. I wanna say over 20 years. I’ve known this place and I’m very disappointed....
Read moreWe first visited this beloved pizza place 26 years ago, long before our first child was born. It quickly became my wife’s favorite, and as a result, our son has developed a deep love for pizza, too! Every trip from North Long Beach to Riverside was an adventure, even if it meant we could only afford the fuel for our old car and a single slice to share.
On this nostalgic return, we ordered two 24-inch New York-style cheese and pepperoni pizzas, both with extra cheese and extra pepperoni, along with a side of Italian garlic crazy bread, a 10-piece buffalo wings, and some potato wedges. For us, it was much more than just a meal; it was a trip down memory lane, a chance to relive those cherished moments.
As we enjoyed our meal, perched on the tailgate of our truck in the very parking lot where we used to sit and eat in my cherished 1979 Coupe DeVille, we were flooded with memories of simpler times. The pizza still tasted fantastic, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. However, we were a bit disappointed to find that we did not receive the extra cheese and pepperoni we had requested. We yearned for that rich, cheesy, grease-laden New York-style pizza that meant so much to us—hence the reason for paying the extra cost.
The customer service was wonderful, and the atmosphere warm, yet the reality of our two-hour drive back home, which stretches to two and a half to three hours with traffic, made it tough to voice our concerns in the moment. We didn't want to be a bother and felt that it would be better to save our energy for the drive home. However, I sincerely hope that the next time we visit, we will finally receive the extra toppings we’ve been looking forward to! Until then, this place will remain etched in our hearts, holding our precious memories dear, I look forward to being able to change my rating to...
