For a party of 8, we spent about $600 for a dinner that included 2 appetizers, an entrée per person, and 1-2 drinks per person. In addition, we stayed for the nightclub/speakeasy portion of the night, where we paid for bottle service since our party was celebrating a birthday. Drinks were great, I felt a little peeved at the fact that there was an inedible flower on the top of my drinks, but I guess that’s a thing. I had the shrimp linguini that was served with a small slice of bread. Maybe I’m used to having bread not being an extra charge, but that petite slice of bread seemed like a pointless addition to the pasta dish. In terms of the night club part, the DJ was great with the transitions and had a solid mix. They had a bathroom attendant that definitely deserved a tip with how hard he keeps the positive vibes going when getting your business done. Also, he had gum, cologne, and other essentials prior to getting back to the club floor. This review should have been at least 4-5 stars, but the 1 star review comes at the detriment of the so-called “manager” that required guests to TIP him to use the restroom at the end of the night. It was clearly before 2AM (the listed closing time on Google and their website), yet he insisted that patrons TIP him to use the restroom. What in the actual f***. It wasn’t just our party that was denied access to the restroom. It was every single person that attempted to use the restroom. My question: You are okay with people spending over $1000 at your establishment, but you don’t want to let your PAYING patrons use the restroom before the posted closing times?!?! If your “manager” was just being the following: outrageous, ridiculous, disrespectful, greedy, and trash; then I’d be happy to change my review to what it should have been. Note: The visit occurred on the night of 1/20-1/21, between the hours of 7:30pm to 2:00am.

We had the amazing pleasure of being served by Maria. She made incredible recommendations and is honestly why I am giving this place 5 stars! She was incredibly engaging, not a pushy salesman, and even helped replace a drink of ours she noticed we hardly touched. The appetizers were wonderful, I highly recommend the pork belly mac n cheese, the street tacos, and the cheese board. However, I feel like the recipes for the entrées we had still need love, they are so close to where they should be For example, the bbq sauce tasted like Carl's Jr bbq, but the meat itself was incredibly fall off the bone and cooked to perfection. I feel like a smokey brown sugar bbq would compliment the meat better. The red snapper sauce was good, not great, and not enough sauce on the plate. It didn't help that the fish was over cooked and did not taste super fresh (but we are in the middle of Riverside! You don't go to Riverside for fresh fish lol, we felt bold in the moment haha) Maria, the managers and staff overall were a dream to be served by. Moreover, I loved how the bussers were continually pre bussing, and I loved how everyone checked on us. The worked as a UNIT. While I think I personally wouldn't order those two entrées in the future, I would like to mention I love the burgers! So definitely try those out... and try to come on Sunday nights when they have live music!!! It is BEAUTIFUL!

I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant and our waiter was very attentive and friendly. I liked the wide selection of alcohol (especially the whiskey!) but was slightly dissapointed to see how small the food menu was. We settled on the smokehouse burger with garlic fries, crispy pork belly mac and cheese, and a cesar salad. The burger was juicy, and full of flavor; it had bacon, cheddar cheese, chipotle aioli, and avocado. The garlic fries were super crispy and had a great, not overpowering garlic flavor. My mac and cheese was very creamy and cheesy and there was no gritty texture like macaroni and cheese at other restaurants and the pork belly was really crispy and rich. I was dissapointed by the cesar salad, the dressing wasn't flavorful enough to make up for the lack of flavor in the romaine lettuce. The croutons were super yummy and I loved the big shreds of parmesan cheese and whole kalamata olives. I think 12 dollars was a lot for this salad and I wouldn't get this again. I would come again for sure to give this restaurant another chance and try some of the other dishes and maybe even order a whiskey flight. Nice location and view of the mission inn, I think this would be a nice place to take a first date.

My Birthday , party of 8. Spent a bit over $100 per person. We were told and confirmed that we could remain at our table after dinner upon conversion from resturant to "night club" via a returned phone call. Reservations at 8pm. We ordered drinks immediately. I the Birthday girl ordered our waiters recommendation of there old fashion. He was right...An amazing drink. 👏 I had 3. Several of us selected it. We had several rounds of drinks before the meal came. Our waiter suggested for me the "Rib Cap" it sounded delicious and I being a steak fan I ordered it. Oops know that we ordered numerous appetizers all being delishous as well. Dinners started to be served and staff are starting to move tables around, cleaning in preparation of the club. Meanwhile we are just starting to eat. My steak..... unfortunately was not all the waiter made it out to be. It was in my opinion over tenderize I believe as it was pre-sliced and you could tell lost all its wonderful rib eye texture. Just mush. No great flavor the rib eye is known for nor barely any seasoning so pretty bland. The sauce used to drizzle over was a tad to salty. I ate one slice and unfortunately could not eat the rest. No the mashed potatoes were excellent but unfortunately there was maybe two large tablespoons of it. By the time the waiter came back around most were done eating and it was probably around 9:30. He saw my plates steak had not been eaten. My daughter explained. He asked if there was anything else I would like to order. 9:45pm.... I said no thank you other then my 3rd old-fashioned..bring this story to conclusion. I got my drink and within 10 min of getting it we were told we would have to vacate our table as it was now there VIP lounge with bottle service only? We explained we were called back and assured we would be able to remain at our table to drink and enjoy the music. Nope unfortunately we could not. We got up with our drinks and went into the bar area. We stood there for a bit and finished are cocktails. May I also mention we were all dressed for an evening out to dinner. The crowd coming in were fairly casual and far younger. We being late 40's. They attempt to show a vibe of being a proabition ritzy type night club with prices to match but our party of 8 that spent a total of min $1000.00 and prepared to continue partying were asked to vacate our table??? Makes absolutely no sense and bad customer relations. Oh..... they definitely did nothing about my steak and yes were charged and no comped drink or even a to go container!! Lol. Will not be going back anytime soon. To bad because the "Old Fashions" were...

0 stars horrible managers but the food is okay. Mangers will rush and be very rude with you to pay the tab if they feel as though “ur type is the the type to skip out on the bill” if you are a southern black woman that is educated they will try to disrespect and disregard you. 0 stars… would not recommend my husband and I came for our 3 year anniversary and the service from both am and pm managers was absolutely horrible. He came to check on all they tables around us expect for ours but purposely skipped us. Flies were in our brunch (mind you we were sitting in doors) and our drinks split. no mangers or waiters bothered to clean the area around us until they nagged us to pay the bill + tip and we insisted for the table and floor to be cleaned around us. We were rushed to pay and made to feel very uncomfortable to the point were we felt as tho we had to leave.

Manager even stated “ well I wasn’t the one the split it” this was a very Intimidating experience considering the manager was around 300lbs and I’m a petite sized woman ( 5 foot 3in 110lbs ) that was being yelled at. (My husband accidentally tipped over a water while I was in the bathroom) We were both shock at how horrible the customer service and experience was considering I was recommended to visit this establishment from one of my assistants

Absolutely horrible customer service

Update:

We tried to give this place a second try. So we went for the Halloween party. The bartender took my debit card and we opened a tab around 9:30pm . Around 10:30-11 I went to the bar for a second drink. I stood there for about 30 mins as the bartender took everyone’s order and skipped over me several times. Two groups of guests had come and gone around me until I decided to ask my husband to close the tab and get my final beverage because the bartender was ignoring me. My husband stood on the other end of the bar. In about 3 min my husband was approached by the bartender and my husband pointed at me Told the bartender to close my tab and order the last drink. The bartender got upset that we closed the tap and didn’t tip him. He yelled at my husband “Oh Wow no tip!!” So loudly I could hear him from the other side of the bar table. He was so rude. It was unbelievable. When my husband asked for the copy of the receipt the bartender refused to give us a receipt yelling “No way bro, I won’t be able to find that. I don’t have time for that “ We had to find a manager just to get a copy of the receipt.

I would never...

I've visited this restaurant multiple times since it's been open. Usually for nights out and for dinner. I wanted to try their brunch and the perfect occasion has come up. I inquired about a party for 20 people to have brunch. I was told I would need to spend a minimum of $1500 to do so. That is $75 per person for a small menu brunch. Brunch at the mission inn is $69 per person and it is full buffet style and totally worth it I totally recommend the mission inn brunch btw. I returned a email asking how would I go about spending $75 per guest when your menu clearly is about $20 per item on the menu... they expected us all to order bottomless mimosas which would run us $60 a person... I was expecting to have a nice meal/brunch with my family including my 87 yr old grandmother who I'm sure would have no need for a "bottomless mimosa charge" in other words not a good place to eat and enjoy the morning with family. This place just wants to make sure you get wasted and run a huge tab NOT enjoy the brunch and food. Maybe it's my fault for inquiring on a restaurant called proabition shame on me I guess. I waited to hear back from the restaurant before leaving this review to see if they would accommodate a family oriented brunch and they have yet to email me back so this is now my full review. Every time I've been here the staff is usually very dry with personality not at all friendly or even inviting so I feel I won't be a returning customer not even for cocktails or dinner nothing about this place really makes you feel like they really want your business. Plenty of other restaurants in the immediate area are worth it fire up, mission inn restaurants, lobby, simple Simon's, food lab, el patron, I frequently visit the downtown Riverside area so this was and continues to be a disappointing restaurant/BAR.

Bottom question to this review asks if it is a kid friendly restaurant DEFINITELY NOT they expect you to...
