Concerns Regarding Overreaching Security Policies at Riverside Convention Center
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the security policies currently enforced at the Riverside Convention Center. As a regular attendee of events hosted at your venue, I have become increasingly troubled by the overreaching nature of these policies, particularly regarding the handling of personal identification and the frequency of check-ins required for breaks or lunches.
The policy requiring attendees to hand over their driver's licenses is not only concerning but also potentially illegal. It is a significant invasion of privacy and a violation of individual rights to demand such personal identification. Furthermore, retaining possession of these documents presents a risk of identity theft or misuse, which is wholly unacceptable.
Additionally, the requirement to check in with the office for every break or lunch taken throughout the day is excessive and burdensome. While I understand the importance of maintaining security within the premises, this level of oversight feels like an unnecessary overreach of power. It not only disrupts the flow of attendees schedules but also creates an atmosphere of mistrust and discomfort.
Furthermore, I am deeply concerned that resources and focus are being allocated towards enforcing these excessively strict policies instead of tackling more urgent issues, such as homelessness in the vicinity of the convention center. As responsible community members, the Riverside Convention Center should prioritize addressing homelessness over implementing a ban on vendors for using the wrong exit during breaks.
In light of these concerns, I urge the management of the Riverside Convention Center to reconsider these security policies and implement measures that are more respectful of attendees rights and privacy. Additionally, I implore you to addressing homelessness and other social concerns in the surrounding area.
It is my sincere hope that the Riverside Convention Center will take prompt action to address these issues and uphold its commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for...
Read moreKnown to be the Boutique Convention Center in the Inland Empire not only in size but also for the Hospitality and care the staff has with its guests.
Close to everything in downtown Riverside and offering flexible (indoor and outdoor) meeting space this Center is perfect for both small and large events. Near to 4 major hotels in Riverside including only 1 (city) block away from the historic Mission Inn Resort and Spa. Also, if you are brand loyal, a Marriott (full service), Hampton Inn, and Hyatt Place are mere steps away from this gorgeous building. I have never seen restrooms or public areas so clean before! Believe me, I notice as I'm always at either concerts or movie theaters so whenever I come across a facility doing a spectacular job I have to comment.
A quick ride from Ontario International Airport allows groups from all over access to this hidden gem. Last August a family member had their Wedding here and OH MY! you know when food is good because your guests continuously bring it up at family gatherings LOL! Well, it was not only delicious but the staff took such care of us from the beginning of planning to the day of our event. We'll definitely...
Read moreHuge! Nice restrooms & rooms all clean even with 300+ people there. The food service was 2/5. But idk if it was actually the convention center or just another business catering? If it was the convention center's workers, cooks, servers, etc. then I give it a 3/5. The cooks did good. The servers were awful except one I spoke with. Our table had 8 or so people, I received my food but all the others waited over 10 mins then the server comes out and I asked what's taking so long, she told me they couldn't serve anymore food. Okay fine. But I saw them serving food still, just not to my table. Finally got our food except one who had an allergy to mushrooms. She told them weeks ago, filled out online paperwork, etc. Told them at the start of dinner too. It took over 45 for us to finally give up on the 3 servers we told numerous times. Asked another lady who finally went back to find the special plate sitting in the kitchen all along with the name of my table...
