Update 9-30-23 Went to see a show here that a family member. They've started charging for parking 24 hours a day where before it was only until 7:00. The city has become extremely greedy and wants to charge everybody for parking but I don't think they realize that it's going to keep people from coming downtown at all. They keep changing downtown to try and make it like other cities but it's just evaluing everything that is special about Riverside. The food lab food is too expensive and it's always crowded and has very little seating as well. They say that if you buy something you get an hour and a half free. We brought our receipts to the gate and the guy said he couldn't give us the credited time because we use the app to check in and he didn't know how to do it. They push the app to say it's easier to pay but then rip you off if you use it. This will be the last time I go downtown for anything that I have to use City parking for. I would not recommend any of the businesses downtown.
Update 12-6-22 I have worked on a couple of shows there as a volunteer for a theater group and help them with their audio. The guy we worked with both times was very helpful and a good lighting tech. They still have some other technical issues that seem easy enough to fix. I even have corrected some of them while I was setting up the soundboard for them. I'm not sure how other events have gone as I haven't been to anything outside of the theaters events.
Been to a handful of events here which have all been fine as they are put on by community groups. As an audio engineer though, the sounds is consistently awful. Some times are better than others, but how can it never improve?
It's always the same system configuration. I know the people renting the venue are paying for the techs so I don't understand how they can't get a handle on their technical disciplines.
I wouldn't rent this facility without getting...

Read moreMy husband and I had never been to the theater and knew almost nothing about it other than it's size. We both love "West Side Story" and decided to take a chance on the theater in order to see it. That was such a good decision! Although the theater is small and the sets minimal, we couldn't have enjoyed the play more. The audience immediately became immersed in the story. The music and voices were wonderful. I still find it amazing that the theater could do so much with so little. I will definitely go back. There is plenty of parking - a parking garage right next door (free). The theater can be a little hard to find the first time so allow yourself an extra few minutes. If you like theater you won't regret...
