I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Hideaway Cafe & Lounge in Riverside, California, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience! Tucked away in the basement of a thrift store, this place exudes a funky and unique vibe that immediately caught my attention.
The drinks at The Hideaway were decent, not exceptional, but they certainly hit the spot. However, I must say that the food options were more on the snack side rather than a full meal. It's a great spot if you're looking for something quick and light to munch on.
Now, let me share with you a memorable (albeit unconventional) moment from my last visit. As I made my way to the bathroom, I unexpectedly stumbled upon a rather passionate and loud tantric encounter happening right on the floor! It certainly caused quite a stir, and the line of people waiting outside the bathroom grew longer by the minute. When the couple finally emerged, the entire crowd burst into applause. It was a scene I won't soon forget!
Aside from the unexpected bathroom spectacle, The Hideaway offers a few pool tables that are in excellent condition with nice, smooth felt. One small tip: remember to bring your own chalk for the pool cues to ensure you get the best experience possible.
If you're looking for a unique spot to take your date or even meet someone new, The Hideaway Cafe & Lounge is definitely worth a visit. Its offbeat atmosphere and intriguing setting make for a memorable evening. Just be prepared for anything—you never know what surprises...
Read moreSome of my sisters wanted to go here for a "girls night out" and it was definitely one to avoid next trip lol. First off...I purchased tacos right outside the establishment and unbeknownst to me I couldn't bring them in. Totally understandable...but the way the security guard told me was unbelievably rude. So I simply ate them outside before coming into this humid sweat box...and on my way downstairs another security guard told me to walk on one side of the stairs. Really??? There weren't any signs or logical reason as to why I couldn't simply walk down the steps in a normal... direct manner...but he seemed upset...and I thought he just wanted someone to pick on. Needless to say...I enjoyed spending time with my family but...the DJ was horrible and it was entirely too humid in there for my comfort level. I know it's a nightclub...and everyone is dancing and moving...so the heat will increase...but I'm telling you it was nasty hot lol...I wouldn't come back here if it was free. I did like the obvious presence of police outside the establishment once the club closed...to help keep people safe and in case a problem arrised. But overall this place had rude employees and was too hot to ever attend again. But for a $5 cover charge...you get what you pay...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this place and decided to check it out. Before 11pm it was free and I didn't like that they take a picture of you when they check your ID - not sure exactly what that is for? Once checked in there's a long staircase leading down. I'm claustrophobic and initially didn't love the fact of being underground.
The space was fairly empty initially and so the hubby and I went to grab a drink. He ordered a jack and Coke just to find out they didn't have it but instead had a no name liquor. He was really surprised that they didn't have Jack. I looked at the alcohol to see what I wanted to order and then noticed that ALL of the liquor were names I've never even heard of, not even cheap liquor like POPOV... So we decided to skip the drinks. We didn't want to get sick from drinking no name cheap liquor.
Next we people watched and that was fun watching some solo dancers. The DJ was ok, he had the strangest mixes and songs and when he finally played something I liked and started to dance to, he cut it short. We hung out for a little over an hour and it definitely got crowded. It was an interesting spot I just don't think it's a spot for us, but many people appeared to be having fun. You can expect a pretty young diverse crowd...
