Second Cafe — Restaurant in Roanoke

Stopped in on opening day, tried a few drinks and hung out inside for an hour. Lively atmosphere, half the crowd was working and the other half talking. It’s an open floor plan with basic seating against walls and one long table near the center.

Drinks came out fast and the service was super personable and helpful. Definitely appreciate the positive attitudes from staff.

Iced matcha w/ vanilla & oat milk we felt was a bit watery. Although this may very well be personal preference. We have traveled & tasted many different examples and feel that this could use a bit more matcha flavor.

We decided to order another iced matcha & whole milk to go. We asked the barista if she could make it a bit stronger and she did great. 2nd round was definitely an improvement.

Dirty chai latte was as hoped for. Simple and prepared well. Espresso has a good taste, will def plan to come back to give the matcha another try and explore some of the other menu options.

This is my first time leaving a Google review, but this place and its people deserve all of the good praise they can get. Second Cafe is a beautiful neighborhood cafe that feels welcoming and cozy the second (lol) you walk in the door. The coffee and vibes are amazing, but Charlie, Sadie, and Ryan really make the place what it is. They’re all so kind and genuine, and do the most to make each guest feel welcomed and valued.
