Simple order of breakfast food have been sitting in the back and not served on time. Therefore, the eggs were cold. The bacon was cold and greasy and the toast. Oh, it was barely even toasted. I wouldn't even call it toast. I call it warm bread, not enough servers With the ratio ofpeople-crazy Manager, correcting employees in front of people in the Dining room. If you have an issue with an employee, take them in the back room don't correct them in front of people staffing was very scarce. Our server wasn't even at our table more than two or three times at the most it was horrible -also prices through the roof went in there for breakfast, had eggs and stuff and a burrito coffee 2 Mimosasover $100 really horrible experience, but have seen other reviews about the food and not being right but cold come on why I have a server if you have to get everybody around you to get what you need we had to ask several of the other people that were just helping out for things like refills on coffee fruit that was supposed to be with the order it was a breakfast platter with fruit. We had to ask somebody else to bring the fruit because it was not delivered with the order Like I said I don't mind paying the prices but come on man cold food who wants cold egg who wants greasy bacon, the hashbrowns or greasy too if they've been hot and been one thing, but they were cold cold cold cold cold they just sat in the back too long before they were served and that's horrible. I had to go order and had to chase it down before we could even get it...
Read moreTo start this off, my friends set the bar quite high, so I and two others came in with increased expectations, but unfortunately, our experience fell quite short.
At the beginning, the waiter didn't even introduce himself to us. He just walked over and asked, "Can I get you all started with beers?" He took our drinks orders and brought them by in a reasonable amount of time, but when he came back, he caressed my back in an awkward manner to get my attention to ask about refills.
After bringing us our drinks/refills and taking our orders, he came back approximately 40 minutes later to inform us, "The fish was ready, but the pizza is going to be two or three minutes. I'll bring the fish out if it's cool?" I informed him, "It's cool", and the fish came out shortly after, but the sweet potato fries were forgotten, and two of the pieces of fish were cold. Additionally, the pizza wasn't brought out for another 10 minutes even though he told us "2-3 minutes". I will say that a complimentary piece of fish was added to each of the orders of fish and fries which was a nice gesture, but it doesn't quite make up for the other mistakes. Finally, as the night progressed, even though they were slowing down, the waiter seemed to get more and more flustered.
Overall, the experience left much to be desired, but I'm willing to give them another chance, because of their reputation amongst my friends. Hopefully, they are able to decrease the wait time and train their servers a little bit better...
Read moreWasena City Tap Room is generally a safe bet but they can have a humdinger every now and then. The pizza is decent and the fish tacos are a classic, but most of the time I come for a burger. My wife and I went out for an anniversary, I got a burger and she got the fettuccine special. The burger was the "Back To Basics" and it was a BBQ burger. Sounded really good, but was ultimately bland. It was the sort of thing that there wasn't anything that was good about it, but nothing about it that was bad, it was the definition of 'meh'. The fettuccine on the other hand was pretty good, but for the price was really small. I enjoyed the boldness and the unusual combos that worked but by the time I got to know the dish it was all gone. the fettuccine was more $$$ than the burger, and while the burger was unremarkable I was full at the end, while the fettuccine left ones hunger intact.
Truefully the best reason to come here is the sweet potato fries with the dipping sauce. The wait staff is decent and won't leave ya hanging too long. The atmosphere is interesting, but I suggest eating outside if you can since inside tends to be loud if the floor is more than about half full. As many have pointed out the beer selection is good, but in this town that's not unusual any more with (at the time of writing) 12 craft breweries in the Roanoke Area. The prices are a little high, in my opinion, but the food is decent and seldom do I see any not having...
