Be UPFRONT about your PRICING. You dont save money sneaking in upcharges if you tick off your customers because they wont return, examples:
Waitress asked if I wanted fish or shrimp tacos, I said "shrimp". She did not tell me it was $4 more. She also told me it came with a side salad. After bringing out a TINY salad, she said the salad was also $4 more as well, because it is not included with the shrimp taco option (considered a "special"). So if you upgrade the meat and want to keep your side salad it is technically $8 more?! Each taco only had 3 small shrimp in them so thats $6 per tiny taco with tiny shrimp ($18 for 3, upcharge not on menu but posted out front as if we can see that from inside). After waiting 40 minutes she brings the food and then says she forgot to charge us for the extra ranch so she will have to charge for that as well. Youd think for the long wait it would have been a courtesy but no, this is not the good service Chick-fil-A offers where they try to make up for slow service by offering compensation, they want that 50 cents! Also a meal charge at bottom of receipt after the tax part was confusing as well. In conclusion, while nickle and diming us may make them extra money today, we wont be back so the money they made by acting like a Carnie at a Carnival will be lost. Because the food was good and we would have been returning customers had it not been for the sneaky pricing upcharges everywhere and the food taking forever to be made on a slow day with no apologies. I have a feeling the owner is a cheapskate that focuses on every penny and item. No courtesies there for waiting a long time and the tacos were a ripoff. I had to keep asking about charges on the receipt and boy do they know how to sneak in upcharges! Manager just says, "is that ok?" but offers no solution. Im not normally "that guy" but we felt taken. I normally tip well as I used to be a waiter, but I felt so deceived so...
Read moreI had really high hopes for this place but unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing. our server was excellent and personable, but the young man as the host was very cold to us and made us feel like our presence was a huge annoyance to him. he wouldn't speak to us directly even after I said hello. he just grabbed two menus and started walking without saying anything like "follow me". I think he hates working here.
we got the eggplant fries but they had soaked up so much oil that they tasted mushy and soggy. our server said they were hit or miss with customers. my partner and I ordered separate pizzas, hers with the gluten-free crust and mine with the regular crust. I ordered the Goat pizza, with white sauce, goat cheese, bacon, and green apples and my partner ordered the Trestle pizza with red sauce, mozzarella, and fresh basil. even though the GF crust was about 12-13 inches vs 16 inches for regular, I wish I had gotten the GF crust instead. the crust itself was okay, but the pizza came drenched in oil, and not just on top. the whole pizza sat in a pool of either olive or canola oil on the tray, making it nearly inedible. I only ate one slice. our server said another customer had recently made the same comment. I ordered a local Parkway beer on tap to drink, and it somehow tasted slightly worse than it usually does out of the can. our server was very nice and attentive, and the outdoor seating had a nice atmosphere, although the angled bench seats can be somewhat awkward. we took the rest of the goat pizza home and dried out the slices with napkins, making it taste somewhat better. still threw away more than half of it though, but we ate all of the GF pizza.
overall, I don't think I would recommend visiting as the food was all misses for me and the host will make you...
Read moreAttended a private event at this restaurant- a reception after a funeral for my friend’s family member- the family was told they were not allowed to take the leftover food at the end of the event. There were multiple wraps, sandwiches, chicken tenders, slices of pizza, vegetables, etc that were leftover. The family paid $2,000 for the room and food and staff refused to provide boxes for leftovers and also refused to even bring out a manager to speak to those of us questioning this. The person who paid and tipped was kind and generous and told those of us who were furious not to worry about it because SHE WAS MOURNING THE LOSS OF HER MOTHER. Regardless, food that is PAID FOR should not be taken back by the restaurant to “feed the owners and family that work at the restaurant”. Thats what we were told- that those who paid for the food could not have the food because they keep it to give to the owner’s and employees at the restaurant. This food was out on platters on a table for the duration of the event. How is it even considered sanitary to return half eaten platters to the kitchen for others to eat?? Were they going to reuse it to serve other customers? Or the next party? It’s truly deplorable that the owners of this establishment would take $2000 from a grieving family (or anyone for that matter!!) and NOT GIVE THEM THE FOOD THAT THEY PAID FOR. I will never give this restaurant another penny and I will share this experience far and wide in an effort to convince others not to spend any money in this place....
