Pretty cool little shop tucked away in an absolutely awful location. I had to drop off my wife’s forgotten lunch, as her office happens to be right next to this store, so I figured I’d stop in for a quick browse. Parking, however, was a nightmare. The only available lot across the street charged $15-$20, with no short-term options, and any potential free spots were blocked by a fire truck.
I popped into the shop for a few minutes and picked up a neat hat—admittedly a little overpriced, but it looked good. I was inside for all of five minutes. When I got back to my car, I found a $75 parking ticket waiting for me, courtesy of some overzealous enforcer who apparently lurks in the building near Little Green Hive and Bread Craft, just waiting to pounce on unsuspecting shoppers. She couldn’t even be bothered to write down the right vehicle or vehicle color, but she sure got the license plate right.
I was in that spot for exactly 8 minutes and 45 seconds. Eight minutes. Seventy-five dollars. Needless to say, I’ll be returning the hat tomorrow and steering clear of this entire area for as long as I live here. Overall, a completely infuriating experience and a solid reminder of why I avoid downtown...
Read moreI never leave a review but felt this place needed a shout out for being awesome and affordable. I came across this place while attending a random job fair that came to Roanoke Va. I liked how friendly every one of the staff members I got to talk to were. They all had great things to say about the company they worked for and there employees and as I was looking for a place hiring to be more flexible with my current work schedule- they fit perfectly. Maggie was a pleasure to meet. I decided to check the store out after my conversations and WOW, I was blown away! I can’t believe this gem had been here all along and I had never been inside. This store is beautiful, inside is huge and I couldn’t help but notice the cleanliness and welcoming family friendly atmosphere (dog friendly too). They have tons of candy, food, clothing, shoes, games, home goods, gifts and so much more. Will definitely be making another trip here soon to finish looking at all the amazing things this store has to offer to its customers! Overall very pleased with my first visit and with the friendliness and help from the staff. Haven’t stopped talking...
Read moreNot a review of the store itself, which I did really like. We were moving a friend from the apartments in the Mast building. A U-Haul truck was parked in the back by the old loading dock. A woman walks up and asks how long we will be. Said we shouldn't be parking there it was for management only and gave us a prewritten note telling us not to park here and a number. She said call then we were done. She had parked behind us, blocking us in, even though there were other spots available. When we called she wouldn't answer. Called 6-7 for a half hour with no response. Some other tenants came by and told us she was the General Manager of the Mast Store and she's done this before and even had her car towed. Finally had to go into the store and find her. She sent someone else out to move the car. Now this wasn't Mast's loading dock, it is actually sealed off and is non functional,(we weren't impeding there business) but the elevator exits to the stairs next to it. This was just someone being an entitled #$@&!! I know of at least 8 people who will never set foot in a Mast...
