It is unfortunate that even when given the opportunity to correct an issue, this location would rather argue than just resolve the issue.
Order - Quarter Pounder w/ Cheese and Bacon. Add extra Bacon, no pickle; Med Fries, Large Sprite.
…there was no Sprite. Okay, then just a Med Coke Zero. I was charged for a Large Drink. (sigh) By the way, that total seems high? No, no - it’s correct. I repeat the order. Yeah, yeah. I am looking at my change, that does not seem correct., but I do not normally order this ….and I added bacon….so…( I am in a rush. I am handed the bag, it seems really heavy; but I am running late - so I leave.)
The first thing is that the bag is filled with fries. Why so many fries? What is smeared all over the sandwich container? Ugh! 😑 I pull over, because now it really doesn’t make any sense,
Not one, but TWO orders of Fries. The “deluxe” gooped up version of the sandwich …with no bacon, much less extra up-charged bacon. (sigh) No wonder the total was so much!
I am sitting there thinking, I should turn around and drive back to the store - but, if I do that I will be an hour late by the time I get all the way to PA. So I don’t.
I relate the story to my friend who tells me, “you need to give them at least the opportunity to correct the issue.”
Wrong soda/size. Wrong sandwich, and made incorrectly Over charged / duplicated an item on the Oder
Beyond belief, the entire order in one aspect or another was messed up.
(Also, the sandwich had raw tomato on it - which I am sensitive too, which could have caused my lips and tongue to swell. Yeah, when you are preparing people’s food, you do need to be careful.)
Call the store, explain everything in detail. Manager treated the situation as if it was no big deal, and that I was complaining about nothing. It was very much a ‘so what’ conversation. Offered to give the manager the order information so that she could see what was ordered. No interest. So what if you were over charged and did not receive the correct items. I was put in the ‘book’ for replacement items.
I had such a negative experience, I just do not need to go back.
It is a week later: Same friend, you have to give them a chance to make it right. (sigh)
Fine, I will get the same order, except for the duplicated fries 🍟 - I will just get another item that is the same price. I will go when they are not busy, and I will be completely reasonable. I will give them a chance to make a correction.
Yeahhhh….they will replace the “sandwich” because even though they over charged me by duplicating the fries in the transaction …that does not require any correction. Spoke to the same manager …(sigh) …did not seem to understand that if the entire order was messed up, then the entire order should be replaced.
Maybe it is some cost savings technique, I do not know. It is hard to believe that the manager willfully chose to misunderstand the situation.
The sad thing is, McDonald could have just replaced the order - and, both of us could have chalked it up to experience....
Read moreThe one star that I’m giving this establishment, is not for the food, service of average crew member, or the atmosphere in general. Rather it is with contact with the particular manager of the McDonalds restaurant franchise itself.
This particular McDonalds is located on the boarder of Rochester/Rochester Hills city limit. The culture of these two cities makes certain unofficial allowances for those animals who aren’t service animals, to occasionally come into an establishment so long as they are in good behavior and are contained. This manager that I had a minor dispute with regarding my animal didn’t know or seem to care about the unofficial culture of the Rochester/Rochester Hills area regarding animals.
In front of everyone (it was the lunch hour on a weekend and it was packed inside), she told me that “unless the animal is a service animal it is not allowed in the restaurant”. If it had been anywhere but Rochester/Rochester Hills it would have made sense. But I had brought in my animal before and no one said anything beforehand. It would have been much kinder if the manager had said something during the days when I had been inside during the week. Then I would have known not to go in with my animal and had been on my way.
I’m writing this as both a warning to “parents” of “fur-babies” such as myself, and a suggestion for the franchise owner of the restaurant: please put a sign on the restaurant that states what is obvious in most places that aren’t “dog-central”; that only leader dogs and service animals are allowed inside the restaurant. It is what other establishments do in the Rochester/Rochester Hills area. It saves “pet-parents” and owners of said establishments the embarrassment of reprimanding an uninformed offender and making an unnecessary scene.
I have no ill-will with the said manager. She was just doing her job and I understand that. But I don’t want what happened to me to happen to anyone else. If this franchise takes my suggestion, then I will give this place the five-stars that...
Read moreThey got my order wrong and then asked me to wait out front while they fix it. They proceeded to forget I was out there for about 15 to 20 minutes while helping every other customer behind me. Eventually (after about 20 cars got their food before me) I got up and went in to ask what was taking so long.
Mind you they had already taken my money, but asked for the receipt so they could figure out which order was mine. When I walked in about 20 minutes later after wondering why no one came out with a corrected order, the cashier (who through no fault of her own) had no idea what was going on. I told her I had been waiting outside for about 20 minutes for my food, and she then asked for a receipt (which I had given to the person at the second window so they could find the order). She then offered me a cookie after I explained all of this to her, to which I said "I think thats fair"
My buddy then blurts out "its really not that hard to get the orders right in the first place though" (he worked at a local Wendy's for about a year during highschool so he would understand their situation better than me, I just wanted the dang cookie and my dinner after a long day at work).
All of the employees at that point started trash talking us immediatly saying we didnt understand what they go through and that the job was difficult. Personally I couldnt respond to this, but also felt like I didnt need to since I hadn't really said anything aside from laughing at my buddies comment.
Long story short, my McChicken was cold and there was no cookie. I was disappointed in the service to say the least.
I've been coming to this McDonald's for almost my entire life, but this one event left a bad enough impression...
