China King — Restaurant in Rochester

I'm very dissatisfied with the service I've received here. On 2 separate occasions I've ordered online for carry out only to discover once home that part of the order was incorrect. My final visit here was again an online order for a dinner special of sweet and sour shrimp with chicken fried rice and crab ragoon. And again I returned home only to discover another error. Only this time the didn't even put half the order in the container. The shrimp (the main part of the order) was completely missing. The restaurant was very empty when I picked up the order. Only 2 customers sitting down to eat. Behind the counter was not only 2 employees but also a child, maybe 4 years old. And as far as I could see only 1 person in the kitchen. So one would think that 1 simple order would be no problem. Seems my assumption was incorrect. I used to love this place. Honestly the food is amazing here and I've enjoyed it many times but I'm big on customer service. If you are unable to provide quality service and in this case food then please don't even try. To the owner of this restaurant, I'd be embarrassed...

We stumbled onto this gem of a restaurant after shopping at Costco, then Wal-Mart North. [I usually shop the south store.] My sister noticed the lunch buffet sign, $9.95 which included fountain drink. We both were impressed with the buffet selections and cleanliness of the restaurant. The food was flavorful and hot (temperature). I especially loved the black pepper chicken and garlic green beans. The hot and sour soup was great, too. Other buffet items were mei fun, fried rice, steamed rice, and low mein; sweet and sour chicken, chicken broccoli, chicken and mushrooms, sesame chicken, and Hunan beef; spring rolls, egg rolls, crab rangoon, and donuts. I'm updating my review from over a year ago. Since that review I have had no other issues with ordering through Beyond Menu and picking up at the store so it would seem that bad experience was a fluke that the location didn't know how to work with considering the timing switching from lunch to dinner menu. So unfair to leave the negative review when they've been great 98% of the rest of times I order.

Overall the portions and quality of the food are good and pricing is about the most competitive in the area with the soup during lunch time being a huge bonus.

Other than my one bad experience through Beyond Menu's ordering getting lost/messed up over a year ago everything has been consistently good. I always count. 10 wontons in the quart order and dinner portions are favorable to the protein side.
