First off - the food was good. If I had this food as delivery, I would not be writing a review because it would be exactly what I expected from a fast-casual Indian restaurant. The only negative on food is I asked for spicy. It was not spicy at all. Trust your guests when they tell you their spice preference.
Here is what merits a 2-Star Dine-In Review:
The service was extremely terrible. Like worst in class terrible. Some examples - I had to ask for silverware multiple times after my food was delivered to my table. Okay, I understand many people eat Indian with their hands - but that is not common in the US - silverware should be common sense that doesn’t require asking for more than once.
I ordered the Egg Biryani and portions are big as any Biryani dishes are large. I asked for a to-go-box and you would have thought I asked them for an extra meal. I’m surprised they did not surcharge me for the to-go-box.
I used all the raita with my meal - it was small. I asked for a to go container. The server/cashier was hesitant - told me that I was given some al ready - he pointed to my empty bowl. He got frustrated that I asked for more. I said if they need to charge me for a side then do so - I just wanted more for my leftovers. This really was a frustrating moment because all the other minor things and then I was argued with - maybe there was a language barrier? But I don’t think so because he talked fine taking orders over the phone.
Only bottled water is an option - for a reasonable $0.25 charge - minor annoyance. No big deal… but it’s another thing that tarnished their dine in experience.
Dining room and bathroom are dingy. No soap or paper towels in the bathroom.
Overall, I WOULD recommend this place for delivery. The service was so bad that for the first time in my life I didn’t want to tip - I used to be a server so I couldn’t not tip and have a good conscious.I still left 20%.
But I’ll never be back - even if the food was good.
Business tip for the owner(s):
Change your business model to takeout and delivery only. You probably will eliminate negative reviews.
If you want to keep dine-in, then adapt to the most basic needs of guests like providing silverware, napkins, and clean tables and bathrooms. Maybe even check in with your guests (even just once). Don’t treat your guests as an inconvenience. Guests shouldn’t have to call to the back of the...
Read moreI visited for the first time yesterday and will likely never visit again.
First, when we got there they told us they didn't have noodles or fried rice, so a good chunk of the menu was already eliminated.
When I went to order the shrimp tandoori I was told they didn't have that either.
I ordered the Dum Ka Gosh from the goat curries section of the menu. The menu said that it comes with bone-in goat. What I got was boneless chicken. It tasted good, but the Du Ka Chicken is $3 cheaper on the menu than the Dum Ka Gosh. I see on my recipe that I did indeed pay for the Dum Ka Gosh.
My working theory is since they didn't have many of the things on the menu rather than saying they didn't have something else they decided to simply charge me for what I ordered and then make whatever they happened to be able to make and call it whatever they needed to.
There was a huge incongruence between the $15-$20 price range for the the entrees and the extremely low quality plastic flatware and paper plates that we had to eat on and with even while sitting in the restaurant. If they are going to force people to eat with plastic flatware they should at least get something decent instead of the cheapest small and flimsy plastic forks and spoons.
They wouldn't give us a glass of water. Instead, they'll only sell bottled water.
We ordered four entrees. The things that we ordered medium spice level were more spicy than the extra spicy butter chicken.
The tandoori chicken breast I didn't like nearly as much as tandoori chicken I have had at any other Indian restaurant. It didn't seem like they marinated it, but instead just cooked chicken and put tandoori sauce on the cooked chicken. I question whether they have a tandoori oven at all as that chicken didn't seem like it was cooked in an oven at all. It was more like they took plain chicken out of a slow cooker and dumped some sauce on it just before serving it. The chicken had no cook on the exterior that makes be believe it was ever cooked in any oven.
The coconut chicken curry had no flavor of coconut at all. Based on my experience with other dishes, I doubt what I got was coconut chicken at all. That is what I paid for, but if that was actually coconut chicken curry they need to get considerably better quality ingredients.
This is a terribly run business. I have no plans to...
Read moreSorry but this place is “NO LONGER AUTHENTIC HYDERABAD” restaurant. Earlier, It used to be very great in service and food. Seems like the management has been changed and not maintaining same quality/quantity. I just ignored my first disappointment with their food and service couple of months ago after their management changed, but i revisited again with little hope and its still same and made me to write this review. I have ordered Chilli chicken earlier and they just gave me 6-7 small pieces of chicken in a box (it was not even one third of that box) and charged me approximately $10 for it. I reached them and explained about the quantity, they replied very arrogantly by saying that’s their actual size. Btw the taste of chilli chicken is also not that good, most of the taste was like we were eating clarified butter (Ghee) instead of spicy chilli chicken. Again, I recently ordered the Biryani from them and its “NOT AUTHENTIC HYDERABADI” biryani which they used to maintain earlier. Simply added some dry flavored rice on top of the meat and charged us $20 for it. The prices are too high and the quality of food and service is very low. If the management has been changed and things are changed, then simply change the name of restaurant too. By looking at the name of restaurant, We are expecting the same old Authentic hyderabad taste/ service and becoming fools. If the quality of food, service and the prices will remain same then i strongly says that i will never visit this...
