Okay, so my stomach started rumbling around dinner time, and I decided to hit up the Culver's at 3380 55th St NW here in Rochester. I've heard great things about their ButterBurgers, and honestly, the thought of some fresh frozen custard was calling my name. Walking in, the place felt really clean and inviting, with that classic Culver's diner-style charm. The staff at the counter were super efficient and friendly, getting my order in quickly. I went for the Double ButterBurger Deluxe – because if you're going to do it, do it right! And let me tell you, it lived up to the hype. The patties were perfectly seared and juicy, with that unmistakable rich, buttery flavor from the bun. The "Deluxe" toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and their signature mayo) added a fresh crunch and tangy balance that really completed the burger. It felt like a step above your average fast-food burger, more like something you'd get from a sit-down diner. Of course, you can't go to Culver's without getting the Wisconsin Cheese Curds. They were golden brown and perfectly squeaky, with that delicious, mild cheddar flavor. Dip them in a little ranch, and you've got a seriously addictive side. I also grabbed some of their Crinkle Cut Fries, which were hot and crispy – exactly what you want from a good fry. And for dessert, the Fresh Frozen Custard is non-negotiable. I checked their "Flavor of the Day" on the app beforehand (a smart move, by the way!) and lucked out with [insert a recent or popular Flavor of the Day from the search results, e.g., "Caramel Pecan" or "Turtle"]. It was incredibly creamy and rich, just melt-in-your-mouth delicious. It’s definitely a highlight and a fantastic way to cap off the meal. Overall, my visit to the Rochester Culver's was a definite win. The food was fresh, hot, and packed with flavor, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was comfortable. If you're in the mood for a seriously good burger, some amazing cheese curds, and top-notch frozen custard, this Culver's location is a solid choice. I'm already thinking about my next visit – maybe I'll try the Walleye next time, I hear that's a local...
Read moreThey got my friend order wrong but perhaps my friend was not clear enough when she ordered (she's elderly). The young lady who brought the food to the table was excellent in her response and offered to get the mixed up order right. She left and shortly after, a man (manager I think) came to the table and with a loud voice was sort of condescendingly nice and promises to get the order right and asked my friend again to explain what she had ordered. He left the table and shortly after the food came . Then after a short 2 minutes another older woman manager came and lectured us about getting the order wrong and told us in a sort of stern loud annoyed voice on how and what to order next time. To also voice our concern to the right staff who wears a darker blue shirt which she was wearing (who knew). I was embarrassed during the whole ordeal. I did not dare disagree with her, she look like she's ready to take somebody's head off. I would not volunteer to be that unlucky person. I lost my appetite but I kept shoving the dang food to prevent myself from telling her off. My elderly friend did enjoy her meal (she doesn't go out often, she's a full time caregiver to a very very sick elderly husband). She did went back to the counter and kindly offered to pay the corrected food served. She said they declined. I will take her to the other Culver's next time, they treat their elderly customers better and with dignity. Culvers does have quality fast food. This experience is an exception. I have had excellent customer service experiences from Duluth to Wisconsin while on the road. Always serve your customers whoever they are in a manner that invoke a good spirit and sincerity. I understand that sometimes stress gets the better of anyone but don't take it out on...
Read moreThis is a nice place for a quick lunch and their custard is very good. It’s a bit more expensive than most burger places (McDonald’s, Wendy’s) and their burgers are paper thin. But they do have many other options from fish, to chicken, breaded shrimp, multiple kinds of soup or salad. So if the thin burgers aren’t your fav, you will still find something to fill your belly. The custard, is a favorite of our children. They like the concrete mixers. They add a fruit or candy topping inside. They have a daily custard flavor too, for something different. For a side- they have breaded cheese curds, Kringle cut French fries, onion Rings or pretzel bites with cheese. They make the items fresh as you wait, so yes you will wait. But the food is made fresh for you. That part is nice, and if you’re eating inside it’s hot. No difference if you’re taking it home to eat. They also sell Grab & Go pints of custard in cooler inside. The parking lot is split into 2 sections. It appears during covid they had an extra order taking station. It hasn’t been in use for over a year- yet it’s still in the middle of the parking lot. Making it nearly impossible to back out once parked, as you run into the drive through traffic due to the mini order taking stand in the middle of the parking lot. Not sure what is going on with it. Super inconvenient when you’re trying to get out. Traffic gets stuck, people going both directions trying to get out and in. It’s a mess- add the winter snow to it and it’s kind of crazy. I will definitely park on the East side of the building until they figure out what they are doing with this abandoned order stand on the middle of the north...
