My first visit was to order two drinks, one for myself and one for my companion. There were only two people working so, our wait time of 20 minutes was somewhat understandable, but they didn't even greet us for at least 10 of those minutes. One employee would take an order or two, then go help the second employee make orders, and they would both ignore anyone walking in or waiting in line without even a "hello." I was in no rush, I was already there so, I just waited. 10 minutes after waiting in line, we were greeted and our order taken with no real great or bad customer service to note, then we waited another 10 minutes to receive our two drinks. The drinks were OK, also nothing great or bad to note.
I was really interested in trying their afternoon tea service on my second visit. It looked really cute! Both the website and the menu in-store advertises it as a bottomless pot of tea, macarons, desserts, scones and jam, cucumber sandwiches, and turkey or ham sandwiches for $25. Must order for two people, minimum so, really it's $50. When I ordered, the employee told me we could choose two different pots of tea. I was there with my 11 year old son so we both chose the only fruity, herbal option. She just brought us one pot and said we could get our second pot when we were done with the first. The three-tier arrived with 2 macarons, 2 cupcakes, 2 slices of white cake cut in half, 2 slices of chocolate cake cut in half, 1 scone-type thing that was warm and gooey, and two ham sandwiches. There was no jam or spread of any kind and no cucumber sandwiches. It was an adorable set-up, but it had cost $54, plus I put a 20% tip so, the whole thing was about $65 and was missing items that were clearly advertised. I don't eat meat so, I gave the extra meat to my son and ate a couple pieces of sandwich with just cheese and veggies, along with the desserts. When were done with the tea, I brought the kettle back up for our second pot, but I am certain she filled it with hot water and did not give us new tea bags even though we were told they were included. Overall, I feel like I paid a premium price for a subpar experience and will not likely return. It's a very cute place with lots of pretty decorations, but the service is unremarkable and they do not deliver on their...
Read moreI have been here many times before and never had a problem. Ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, and received a very watered down weak coffee that even my friend agreed tasted bad. I went to the counter and told them it wasn't good and asked for another drink (the same price) and they charged me for the second drink with no refund for the first drink. The second drink I had also ordered before, and again was made poorly today. Tasted just like sugar and milk with no flavor. Proceeded to take it back to the counter hoping for a refund. The waitress instead argued with me and then agreed to fix the drink to give it more flavor. For 7 dollar drinks and being a repeat customer, I would expect better service. (I also didn't appreciate the waitress acting like I didn't know what I was ordering, when I have had these drinks multiple...
Read moreI think this place is off to a great start! A cute place that is well needed in Rochester. The vanilla macaron was absolutely amazing. Sadly my cafe Au lait was cold even though it had just been made and for it being $5 the portion was small, so I’m curious if that might come with a refill? Otherwise it should of been more like $3.50. Many of their deserts in the display did not have signs or ingredients and I have food allergies so that made me wary because I didn’t know what was what. I think once the staff is better trained this place will be running very well. I would suggest to add some heavy curtains around the front door because it was very cold inside. And my other suggestion would be to have water put out for customers to walk up to in a gallon pitcher maybe infused with lemons or something since the deserts...
