I have been a patron of Lasker over the last several years, visiting the store each time I visited Rochester and the Mayo Clonic. I have made several purchases, both large “special” items, and also smaller jewelry gifts. I have always found the jeweler to have great service, with quality merchandise in a very nice setting. My most recent visit to the store on Oct 9, 2024 was no exception. I was greeted at the door by Jeremiah, who immediately made me feel welcome. He showed me some fun new innovative 14k gold jewelry, (He noticed that I was wearing several pieces of gold jewelry), and then brought me to the counter of E L Designs silver jewelry which I had inquired about. I purchased a pair of E L Designs earrings, a gift for my sister, which were beautiful. I also purchased an E L Designs pendant, and bracelet for myself which coordinated with other EL Drsign pieces previously purchased at Lasker. Two days ago, I decided a matching bracelet for my sister’s upcoming birthday would be a nice addition to the earrings I had purchased at Lasker last monthI. I telephoned Lasker and again, spoke with Jeramiah . The process of purchasing jewelry long distance, by phone, could be a daunting task, but Jeremiah made it so easy! He texted photos of possible choices to me, and seemed to know my taste and what I would like, even though we had only met once! I chose a beautiful silver bracelet with small diamond accents. It is perfect with the earrings!! It was a pleasure to work with Jeremiah, He is enthusiastic, knowledgeable about the merchandise, friendly, and professional. He has “ gone the extra mile” to be of assistance to me and I feel that he truly cares about his customers. This is a rare and treasured quality! He is just wonderful, and Highly Recommended!! Thanks to Jeramuah, and to Lasker’s manager, Melissa as well! They made both my in-person purchase and my long distance purchase, excellent and memorable experiences! I will always be a loyal...
Read moreWe stopped into Lasker while in Rochester for ongoing medical treatment. We wanted to have my wedding & engagement rings redesigned for our 40th anniversary and had become very frustrated with a jeweler in the Twin Cities who kept the rings for over 2 months and did not provide a suitable design. We were encouraged by how responsive Sheryl was to our request especially when she told us we could meet face-to-face with the designer the following week. I was happy to make the additional trip to Rochester because I didn’t really know how to describe what I wanted in a re-design. The vendor over-promised and under-delivered and made numerous errors along the way. Initially, I was told the finished rings would be delivered in 6 to 8 weeks depending upon design changes. I was told the vendor was new to Lasker and untested. The store did not take any responsibility for their part – that is, apparently, they did not “vet” this vendor and they did not tell me the vendor was new-to-them. I finally received the rings almost 12 weeks after the order – this was with one redesign because the designer did not make a note in our original consultation. NOTE: I approved the change within 24 hours of receiving the CAD drawing so, in my mind, the additional 4 weeks was unnecessary. Then the ring was sent to the Eau Claire store, instead of Rochester, which added an additional delay. Lastly, the engraving inside the ring is illegible – not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but still a disappointment. While Sheryl and the owner were very apologetic, I wish they had been more forthcoming with us from the beginning. I also wish they had taken responsibility for their error in contracting with a vendor who did not follow through. Lastly, I was disappointed that almost all contact regarding delays was initiated by me and not...
Read moreI have to say, my husband and I are quite disappointed in our recent experience. My beautiful engagement ring and wedding band were purchased from Lasker's. Recently, I stopped in to have my ring sent in due to a diamond having fell out of my wedding band (I've only had it for 1.5 years) only to be told that we may as well re-prong all of the diamonds for nearly $1,000 as I was told "the diamonds will keep falling out because that's just how white gold is." It would have been nice to have been warned and educated about the apparent tendencies of white gold and quality of the ring prior to purchasing. It'd also be great if they'd track the number of times a person comes in for cleanings electronically rather than giving me a card I'm likely to lose, making my warranty now void because I'm unable to prove that I've been in for a cleaning within 6 months. We've only been married for a year and a half and my ring is apparently just falling apart and I've been advised not to wear it. If that's the level of quality I can expect from a customer service standpoint and jewelry standpoint, I will not be returning.
Update: Laskers reached out to me, explained the situation, and ended up taking care of my ring free of charge. Everyone I came into contact with was extremely kind (as they always have been)-especially the jeweler and the manager who reached out to me. I appreciate...
