First of all, Google should make it possible to give ZERO stars and still be able to write a review. Chili's in Rock Hill deserves NO STARS. How many bad reviews does it take before the parent company gets the hint and tries to make things better? The Rock Hill location desperately needs help from someone. Otherwise, they should just close up shop and give it up as a lost cause. My family eats out. Often. Chili's used to be one of our 'go to' places. But for some reason things have gone very badly here. We went for the last time last night. It was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. It's always the same thing. SLOW SERVICE It took 45 minutes to get an order of guacamole. When it came out it looked like two scoops dropped into a bowl. Geez if that's all it took, what the hell took them so long to get it out to us? They're obviously not making it fresh. And by the way, the guac was supposed to be free using my rewards. But we had been there so long that by the time I got the check, I decided to say nothing, cut my losses, and get the hell out while the getting was good. Was the waitress nice? Absolutely! It turns out she is someone I knew years ago. It was nice to take a moment and catch up. But I felt awkward talking with her as people around us were obviously glaring because they were tired of waiting for her. One group at a neighboring table had already lost their patience and left without ordering. I honestly don't think the waitress was the problem. There's something about the way the service is done here that is off. Whatever they are teaching their servers is not working. Couple that with the obvious problems in the kitchen and it's just hopeless. We considered going to dinner back in January with a friend who was in town. Her hotel is next door to the restaurant. We met her there and walked to the restaurant. The parking lot was virtually empty. We walked in and the place seemed all but deserted. The hostess met us at the door with a smile. We said there were three of us. She asked for a name. I said, "excuse me?" She said there would be a 20 to 25 minute wait. We were the only ones standing there. No one else was waiting to be seated, and there were empty tables everywhere. Long story short. We left. The time before that was in November. (You might notice a pattern of waiting a while before trying again.) Four of us went for dinner. The service was painfully slow. Either waitress didn't know what she was doing or the organization is so useless that it overwhelms the staff. She forgot over and over to bring things we had asked for to the point that we just gave up asking. We were served literally one at a time. I honestly don't know why I ever considered going back after this time. I guess I am hopelessly optimistic even when there is no reason for it. I could go further back. This problem is not a new one. But we're done. And we are not alone. I posted about last night's experience on my Facebook page. Several of my friends shared their own very bad experiences at this restaurant. Many say good things about Chili's overall, but this place is cursed. Rock Hill is not a big place. When there are this many people saying the same thing about your establishment, there's a real problem. We won't return until I see something in the news stating that the restaurant has been closed for renovations and training and will reopen when they are ready to provide the best possible service.....Do something! This...
Read moreThe woman that seated us seemed to hate her job. We (myself and 2 others) had just spent 10 hours trying to evacuate FL because of the hurricane and had not eaten since brunch. We arrived at 10:45p and requested to be seated at a table (not a booth) since we had been crammed in cars. She mumbled something about not seating us in the requested section, turned her back, and SLOWLY walked away. Because she was mumbling, we didn't know what we were waiting on. She finally came back, grabbed 3 menus, and started walking away without saying anything. We just had to assume she was seating us at that point. She squeezed us into a table between 2 other tables that were entirely too close to us. We were starving so we just let that go. We waited and waited before finally flagging down the waitress that was waiting on the tables to our left and right and asked if we were going to get a waitress. She said she would find us one. Finally a woman came out to take our drink orders. The whole experience up to this point was 100% irritating and unprofessional. This is the worst service I had ever received in any restaurant...ever. Once we finally received drinks and an appetizer, we had to listen to the table to one side complain to the manager and get a comped bill. The table to our other side had such a bad experience, they left 2 coins for a tip. The table behind us was talking about talking to a manager as well. I'm not sure if this level of service is common here, but, I'm glad to have only been travelling through. We finally got our food after 11:30p (and no, they weren't busy) and slammed it down so we could go to our hotel. I didn't even have 1/4th of my food before I felt sick. This was the most disappointing experience I have ever had in a restaurant. How unfortunate that it was at a time when we were exhausted, hungry, and just wanted to get in and out. It will be a while before I step foot in a...
Read moreI went to Chili's in Rock Hill last night for my friends 30th birthday party. We had a group of 13 people. It took well over an hour and a half to get our food, our desserts were forgotten about and brought with the check after repeatedly inquiring about it. As we are finishing our meal, the waiter proceeds to tell us they need the tables and we should move to a booth... (at this point the party had dwindled down to 4 guests due to the extra long wait time to get food) I'm sorry but if you are PAYING CUSTOMERS you should not feel as if you are being booted out. We were not loud, were were not interrupting anyone's meal, I understand some waitstaff may be intimidated by large groups but we were as nice as possible, even though he was slower than molasses at Christmas time. In his defense, he did have a boot on for a leg injury but why put the slowest waiter in the restaurant in charge of a party of 13 people? We felt thoroughly disrespected and i highly doubt we will ever return to this location. The waiter stated that, "the manager is being a jerk and said ya'll need to move or leave so we can use these tables". never have I ever felt so belittled and pushed aside. He brought our checks and the hostess glared at us until we left. We all wanted another drink and were gladly going to spend even more money there but when you're basically being shown to the door, why stay and let them take our money? Nope. Never again. The food was great, although it took forever to get, but the staff was awful. Also, the bathrooms were disgusting, only one door locks, there were paper towels overflowing...
