If I could give a zero stat rating I would. My husband, toddler and I went into ihop on 12/09/17 had a server who would just disappear for very long periods of time, seemed disgruntled, acted as if she didn't want to be there let alone do her job yet despite all of that we left a 20% tip because I worked as a server before and know how long the shifts can feel, that they're basiclly only paid in tips and that a good bit of people don't tip at all or think $1-2 in a multiple person bill is sufficient. Our total was $31.77, I tipped $6.36 for what I thought the total on my credit card bill would show up as $38.13 (basic math, yay me!) Wrong. I got an email last night from capital one (thanks for being in my wallet!) Saying hey! We saw you went to ihop and tipped $16.36 on a $31.77 bill, if the service was that awesome and the amounts are correct okay; if not sometimes askew. Needless to say I was upset and wanted to get to the bottom of this, I called Ihop immediately last night to have a crew member tell me that there was no manager on duty ( what!?), and that it was probably a credit card system error.....ummm no???. She claimed she took my name and number down (she didn't) and that a member of management would call me asap this morning (they didn't). So I called AGAIN. This time the person I spoke to was supposedly a manager but wouldn't give me their name and kept saying "I have no clue what's going on hahaha ". I have never had something like this happen before and the whole situation left such a sour taste in my mouth. I used to love ihop but if this is how its going to be run, I'm going to cut my ties with having them as my go to restaurant for awesome breakfast food. This is so frustrating and hopefully capital one can get this all situated because clearly IHOP has dropped the ball and isn't going to even attempt to...
Read moreIced Coffee was ordered & waitress dropped the glass onto table which shattered & soaked my new white blouse, shorts, & phone that was on the table. My husband rushed to grab the phone & take it to the bathroom to try & save my screen protector, phone case, & ultimately the phone. I jumped up to go the bathroom & try to clean the coffee out of my new white blouse which obviously was unable to happen. I wish we had thought to take pictures because I honestly dont think anyone who wasnt there will understand how completely soaked my outfit & phone got. While I understand accidents happen this was not handled well by the restaurant or management. The table was cleaned while we sat there & we were never offered to move to a new/clean table. We continued to find pieces of glass & areas where coffee had not been cleaned for the duration of our meal. While I sat in a coffee soaked blouse my meal also did not come out correctly. When I finally received my correct meal of raspberry topped pancaked I asked for a little extra topping because there was very little on my pancakes. My husband noticed once the bill was brought to us that we were charged $1.29 for the "extra" topping. We were shocked that no manager came to check on us or see if there was anything they could do to fix the situation. We brought guests from out of town with us & this was the experience they witnessed. Collectively we spent over $40 and were very disappointed in this frequently visited Ihop. This is a great example of how NOT to...
Read moreThe greeter was unwelcoming. We didn’t even know he was standing there. I never heard him speak. He motioned for us to follow him. He simply threw the menus on the table and scurried away. The waitress was very soft spoken. We had to strain to hear her. We asked for a moment and she stayed gone so long, a lady who sat down after us had already received her meal and started eating. If we weren’t trying to pass the time, we would have left. She was very inattentive to us and I observed her several times standing along the wall talking to others and watching her phone. My order was wrong and my daughter’s order was incomplete. We ordered a spicy poblano omelette, which was not spicy at all. I was told that the peppers are not always spicy because they may be out of season. UGH! He didn’t offer to remove the charge for peppers. I declined because I didn’t ask for extra peppers. After being disappointed with my omelette, I turned my attention to my pancakes expecting redemption. Not the case. After taking a couple of bites, I didn’t even finish them. When she brought the bill, I just handed her my card because I was ready to go after such a bad experience. After she brought back the card, I realized the cost was more than it should have been. I waited on her to return with my itemized receipt but we never saw her again. I felt like I threw money away because my daughter nor I completed or enjoyed our meal. It had been a long time since I ate at IHOP. It will be even longer before I return to...
