We have a home in FL and SC. We placed orders in both states. While in FL I placed an order on the app but for some reason it changed my location back to this one in SC. We didn't realize it until we went to pick up our order in FL. The FL location told us that we had to call that store to get our money back and then had to order again with them and pay them again.
I called this SC location which sent me to a call center. The lady said she would call the SC location, cancel my order and get me a refund. She said that the order was canceled and that the refund would be back on my credit card within 10 days. We never received our refund.
When we got back to SC we placed an order with this location. When my husband picked it up he spoke to Lee the manager and she asked if she could just give us two complimentary cards for a meal. That was fine since it would equal what we had already paid them. A week or so later my husband goes there to place the order in person. He called me to speak with the cashier since I normally place it through the app and he didn't know what we get. I told the girl (Elizabeth is listed ask Host on receipt) what we wanted and even asked her to repeat it back to me to make sure it was right.
My husband comes home and tells me that it's a good thing he checked the order. He has to eat gluten free food so he gets the gluten free bread. Well they gave him NO bread. He went back in and asked where his bread was. They give him the order again. He checks it again and now they have given him someone else's sandwich. Then the person making the sandwich plays dumb like they didn't know it was suppose to be gluten free even though it says it on the order. They even asked him if it was a choice or allergy that he was asking for GF bread. He said allergy.
We asked for (2) 1/2 lemonade and 1/2 sweet tea drinks with slices of lemons. I even verified with the girl that she had it correct and she said yes. I take a drink and it was horrible. They gave us 1/2 sweet tea and 1/2 unsweetened tea. They did at least remember the slice of lemon. The drinks went down the sink.
I was going to do their feedback survey but it says my code as already been used which is weird.
We should have just been given our refund as we were promised. Instead we paid for stuff that wasn't what we wanted or ordered.
We really enjoy eating at McAllisters in FL and was happy to see they were in SC also. This kind of service saddens us and makes us not want to eat there any more. At least not at...
Read moreI don't really get the appeal of McAlister's Deli. It's not bad, but there's nothing about it that really stands out to me. I've never caught myself thinking, "Man, I could really go for McAlister's right now!" For me, it's always someone else who suggests it, and I'll half-heartedly agree because I can't think of anything I'd prefer in the moment. Maybe that's just my bias. I've never had a bad meal at McAlister's, but the food is a little on the bland side, and there's nothing I've had that stands out as excellent. I typically can't even remember the name of what I get, which is indicative that the food isn't terrible or remarkable.
Given my own baseline for McAlister's as a chain, I'll review this particular location. I've been here twice in the past couple of weeks. Both times, the customer service was pleasant but not exceptional. It appears to be run by high school or college students who are good employees but obviously have better things to do with their lives. The food came out promptly, and it was predictably average. The place was clean. I heard the same songs in the background both times, which was interesting, though not unpleasant. My son ordered the Chicken and Gnocchi soup and was thoroughly unimpressed. He didn't finish it. I think he was expecting Olive Garden quality, but it wasn't up to the task. I had a bite. It was just what I expected: a mediocre but passable cup of soup.
One interesting thing happened. We came in at about 8:20pm, and they close at nine. We were immediately informed that it was a 30-minute wait for spuds. I guess they are known for having good spuds. I thought that was considerate to tell us up front, but it didn't matter to us because we weren't going to have spuds. However, some people must really, really like spuds because there was a significant sized crowd that chose to wait around for their spuds! Probably 4 different customer groups in total, ranging from 1 to 3 people per customer group, waited 30 minutes at almost 9pm for spuds. Now, that was remarkable! Maybe I should have been ordering McAlister's' spuds...
Read moreWe were at the store on Herlong Avenue in Rock Hill.SC and had the poorest service we had ever had at any restaurant. After 40 min of not receiving our food and others around us being served I asked for someone to check on our order. She came back with one meal and not the other. 5-7 min pass and still no meal. I politely asked for a refund because we had waited now 45 min. The young girl at the register was very nice and apologetic. The manager was rude and when we asked for a managers number to tell about our service she refused to refund our money. We could hear her I. The back saying that she was not going to serve us and laughed. When we said we just want our money back and she could be heard saying that she was not going to handle it. The other girls in the back all giggled at her brazen refusal. We asked if we needed to call the police to get our money back she said she didn’t care call the police. A nice man came out that didn’t have the authority to refund the money asked what happened and we told him the story and that we just wanted a refund. He got on the telephone and called someone. Finally another manager came up and refunded our money. She apologized for the woman saying she was frustrated and didn’t handle it well. Someone like that does not need to be in a managerial position. And she certainly shouldn’t be In The back laughing loudly saying how she was not going to serve us that someone else could if they wanted to. The whole transaction took over a hour and we still...
