My first time ever eating here, so I wasn't fully aware of how the menu or restaurant worked. I ordered a noodle dish that also came with the California Roll. I've never had the California Roll before and I was willing to give it a chance. However it was the noodle dish I was really after.
The food arrived and I tried the California Roll first, it was awful. I then asked the waitress if I could have the California Rolls removed from the table and the bill. The waitress, very polite and proper, acknowledged my request and went to get it approved by the manager.
The manager (older, asian lady) had approached us and told me that it would cost the restaurant $5 to remove the California Roll from my bill and that it was ultimately my fault. I told her I wanted the noodle dish, & the noodle dish was good. I however did not particularly want the California Roll that comes with. She told me that I ordered from the lunch menu, and not the dinner menu, so therefore this was my fault.
Why was I given a lunch menu at dinner time then? Why would you give a customer a lunch menu then punish us from ordering from it?
The manager continued to debate me that this is my fault and would cost the restaurant/kitchen $5. ( my gf and her family have been to I Luv Sushi and the owner was giving them shots of Sake for free.) How the hell is the management going to barade me over $5? Especially being my first experience and not understanding the difference between lunch and dinner options.
As I went to leave I Luve Sushi the manager made comments about me not taking the remainder of my food home. Lady, I do not want to reheat noodles and cabbage in a microwave. DO NOT SHAME ME FOR NOT TAKING THE LEFTOVER CABBAGE AND NOODLES HOME TO BE MICROWAVED.
I WOULD NOT...
Read moreI am having a hard time coming up with the words to write this review. So many things to say. We had looked forward all day to eating there tonight. We finally arrived and got seated and handed two menus. I kid you not, because I timed, the waitress finally came to our table 29 minutes later to just get our drink order. I noticed that tables that came in around the same time we did, did not have their drinks either. Everyone was beginning to look around to find the waitress. Let me say this, no waitress should be alone to tend to 20 tables or more plus barstools around the sushi bar. I'm not for sure if the waitress was new or just not trained. Because there is a flow to waitressing. When you seat people, you should immediately find out what they want to drink and get them asap. There were 3 to 4 people in the kitchen and one waitress out front. After finally getting our drinks it was another 37 minutes before our food was out. The waitress finally got around to the other tables to get their drink orders. They were beginning to get upset. A table of 8 got up and walked out. A table of 3 walked out. She took forever to get their orders. Now as far as the food, if you are going to order a house ginger Salad as an appetizer as part of your meal, it should come in something bigger than a pudding bowl and cost $4. I thought I was getting sweet and sour chicken, but all I got was fried chicken pieces with a watered down yum yum sauce drizzled over it. The rice underneath was gummy and sticky. For what we paid it was not worth it and we did not enjoy our dining experience or customer service whatsoever. Presentation is good but it will not bring...
Read moreMy husband and have been here several times. The ambiance is great, the food is usually good, and you’re usually greeted by the sushi chefs as soon as you walk in. However, the waitstaff is lacking. There have been times we’ve had good waitress and there have been times we’ve had not so friendly ones. Tonight was the icing on the cake. I don’t plan on coming back. After being seated, it took m 10min just to get our order for our drinks. We sat for 10min not knowing who our waitress was. Eventually a girl came and quickly our drink order. I THINK she was our waitress, but she never introduced herself. I ordered a coke and when I got my drink I could see that it was very flat. No bubbles in it and it was light like ice tea. I tried it and sure enough it was very flat. I even had my husband try it to make sure, and he confirmed the same thing. I asked the waitress to see if it could be fixed. She said she would work on it. Time passed and she never came back until it was time to bring our food out. I asked about the coke and she said they checked it and nothing was wrong with it and “this is how our coke normally is”. I’ve eaten here at least five times and know this to be false, since I’ve ordered coke here before. She quickly apologized but did not offer me anything else. We finished our water and our meals without getting a water refill until the very end. The young man refilling waters did apologize for this. All in all, I think this is a nice restaurant, and our waitress was not unkind, but she didn’t seem to care about whether we had a good dining...
