IHOP — Restaurant in Rockford Township

Went to this location with family for breakfast. We were greeted immediately with a smile and sat down. We had ordered coffee to start, the coffee was brought out promptly and was hot. We started to make our coffees to our liking and noticed we were without silverware, which was no big deal until; we ask our waitress Daniela to get us some silverware and says she will be back soon. 5 minutes or so pass by and we still don't have anything to stir our coffee with so the waitress strolls by us again, so I flagged her down and asked again for some silverware. We didn't get any until moments before our food came out. Coffee was cold and things would mix in. Okay, it's just coffee I'll make another cup right? Next our food came out. We ordered the Pablano omelette, stuffed French toast with strawberries and vanilla, and finally the spooky Adams family children's breakfast (which features the purple whipped cream and chocolate drizzle). The children's meal was brought out without the signature featuring whipped cream, which was fine we are all human we make mistakes. The problem was when we asked for it to be put on our son's pancake Daniela had asked us if we were sure we wanted it after asking for the topping then as our son is eating a sausage off of his plate she rudely rips the plate from him and stomps off, then returns with a pitiful about of the topping on top. She then asked us if there was anything more she could do for us we declined because we were so disappointed with the service. The food was good but not worth it because of the atmosphere. Not a single smile, good day, or any type of positive service from this waitress. Until service can be improved we will not be coming back or recommending this...

Took a little while for our server to come and take our drink order (about 4 minutes) from the time we sat down. Drinks were prompt and our food order was taken quickly. Food took a long time to come out though (about 25 minutes), but they were pretty busy.

My fiancé ordered an omelette with his avocado on the side. It was obvious they put the avocado on the omelette and the took it back off and put it on a separate plate so beware if you have food allergies! The tres leches pancakes were meh. Otherwise food was good.

Then, as we were finishing our meal, things got interesting. A very large group of people (with a lot of young kids) came in. They wanted to be seated together (understandably), but they were obnoxious with the way they handled themselves. The staff was trying to be accommodating, but they continued to get more irate. The manager came over to address the situation and deal with the group (and even offered to wait on the group herself) and the family was still acting obnoxious. It didn't seem at this point that anything was going to make them happy. When the family started making threats, the manager kicked them all out! I was thrilled to see the way the staff and management handled this situation. I for one would not want to be seated next to thus group and honestly, I did not feel safe as long as this group was there given the way they were acting! Horrible service! I waited forever to get my food and when I did, it was NOT what I ordered. I told the waitress and she said 'Sorry I forgot you wanted pancakes' She looked over at my table and saw that my glass was empty and it was empty for about 20 minutes.. She kept walking by and DID see that it was empty but did not offer to get me more to drink. So when my food was finally brought to me, I asked for more sausages because that was the only decent food there. She said 'Yeah let me put that order in for you' After about 20-30 minutes my sausages still hadn't been brought to me. She walked over with my check and said 'Here is your check have a good night. LIKE WHAT?!!! WHERE IS MY FOOD I ORDERED! 'She said oh, I forgot to place the order'. So after getting all my food finally, the bill came out to $40. No discount, no sincere apology, nothing. Atleast the lady who sat behind me who spilled her drink because she was to drunk got free stuff. LOL the customer spills her own drink and gets it for free, while you screw up my WHOLE order and I got no discount. So after almost an hour and a half of being there, I asked for my check and she said 'ok' 10-15 minutes went by and she came back and laughed and stated that she forgot my check.
