Panera Bread — Restaurant in Rockford Township

Friendly staff, great management, I think it was the manager Amanda that helped us, she was very kind and friendly. Very clean place and good selection even if you have picky children. Their broccoli cheddar soup is amazing, chicken noodle soup was great too and their flat breads are very tasty as well. Best Panera in this area. Staff was knowledgeable friendly and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The staff was also very with my children, my youngest even gave one of them a hug thanking her for the good food. Their desserts are great as well, brownies are the kids favorites but their smoothies are also exactly as they should be. This place does not have their act together. Boyfriend was sick and phoned in an order for a bread bowl as I was leaving work. I was at Panera within 10 minutes of him ordering. The polite young man at the register informed me it wasn't ready. No big deal. Then one of the more seasoned employees stated "he just called. It will be 5 minutes" (seriously? It's a bread bowl). I sat for 15 minutes (yes. Fifteen) waiting on a bread bowl of soup. An order placed 10 minutes before I arrived. During this time I watched as a young woman asked to get her order corrected, and another patron had questions about online ordering to which the managers response was "I don't know anything about online ordering." I then observed my name finally pop up on the screen telling me my bread bowl was being prepared all while the 'seasoned' barista/sandwich assembler was making comments (I'm not deaf, by the way). I ordered two flatbread pizza meals and an extra side of mac and cheese from Panera.com. I ordered delivery since I am at work and unable to leave. When the delivery came, I received only the flatbread pizzas - not the salad, soup or mac and cheese that was ordered. When I asked the delivery driver about it, she stated she didn't know; that's what the employee handed her. It says "bag 1 of 2" clearly on the receipt. I spent $46 and received half of my food. When I called the store, I asked to either have my food delivered to me or to be refunded for my order. The Manager did cancel my order. I will update my rating once the refund actually shows that it was completed. I don't understand how I was not able to get my food delivered. It's not my fault that Panera uses Door Dash and that the "dasher" couldn't go back to get my food. Panera does catering; they have vehicles. Someone could've brought me the rest...
