I have so much to say about this place. We LOVED it! So we give it 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
We went on a Sunday early afternoon and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted very amicably by one of the hostesses. We were seated by the floor to ceilings windows; and the lighting and the rather calm and relaxing ambience were inimitable!
We loved our food it was palatable! First we started with the Thai Ice tea, something I’ve never had. It was different, but I quickly acquired the taste. Our starters were the Egg rolls which came in an order of 2, they are vegetarian and big! (Hey, I’m not complaining 😉). By far the BEST egg rolls I’ve ever had!! I highly recommend. Little greasy, but delicious! We also had a house salad side and the ginger dressing was surprisingly good, I’m picky and it settled well with me. Our meals were the Orange chicken and the Tofu Pad See Eww. We were beyond pleased with the flavor, the freshness of vegetables and the presentation of our dishes.
Service was great, our server was friendly, kind, patient and helpful when it came to explaining menu items.
The restaurant was clean, and we even saw small private booth area where people can dine in and have to take off their shoes.
When it was time to leave, our server thanked us and an older gentleman came out by the bar and also thanked us and said goodbye as he bowed his head. We were truly humbled by this.
The restaurant is located in a private plaza area so the parking lot is huge. You won’t have issues with parking and it’s handicapped accessible.
Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend Thai Hut if you want to have a great dining experience. Thai Hut, you have our Patronage! I truly can’t wait to go back and try new items on...
Read moreThere isn't a dish here that I don't like and I have personally tried everything on the menu. There is such a variety of authentic Thai food that is customizable to your taste whether you want vegetarian, vegan, tofu, chicken, pork, or beef. There's some tasty duck and salmon dishes too. And you choose your spicy level from 1 to 5 (though if you are a crazy spice lover like my husband you can always order higher or the extra spice tray on the side with four hot spices to choose from). Brown or sticky rice are alternatives to the white rice. My top favorites include the peanut curry, green curry, pad Thai, yum nua, drunken noodles, tom yum, fish cakes, egg rolls, fried banana, God I could go on and on...
As a past employee I can tell you that I was treated like family. Everyone works together and appreciates each other. You can see it reflected in the constant smiles the staff wear.
Rather than working in assigned sections the wait staff work together to please every guest so you can expect efficient, enthusiastic service.
The owners are super personable and never miss a day of work. They take pride in their establishment which is obvious in the high quality of food and service.
The frequent customer base is awesome too! Many life time customers made every year that can't help but keep...
Read moreWe tried the Pad Thai, red curry, and a side of ginger dressing.
Having lived in Southeast Asia for 10 years and traveled extensively throughout Thailand, I’m quite familiar with the ingredients and frequently cook many Southeast Asian dishes at home. So as a visitor to Rockford, I was excited to try some local Thai food.
The red curry was fantastic—the flavor was rich and well-balanced. The bamboo shoots were a bit different from what I’m used to, but still very enjoyable, and I appreciated the option of brown rice.
The chicken Pad Thai, on the other hand, was underwhelming. The noodles were overcooked, and the vegetables were sparse and overcooked. Essential fresh elements like bean sprouts (which were listed in the description) were missing entirely. While the portion of chicken and noodles was generous, it lacked the freshness and texture I’d expect. A sprinkle of green onion and/or cilantro would’ve been a nice finishing touch.
Lastly, I asked about buying a side of dressings for a salad I was making at home and opted for their ginger dressing. It turned out to be a creamy, likely mayo-based dressing with only the faintest hint of ginger—not quite what I had in mind.
I’d still go back for...
