Almoka Coffee Shop is a hidden gem for coffee lovers looking for an authentic and unique experience. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting ambience transports you to a cozy café infused with Yemeni culture. The earthy tones, traditional décor, and aromatic spices in the air create a relaxing atmosphere perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a peaceful solo coffee break.
The staff is welcoming and their passion for the craft is evident, though during peak hours, service may take a bit longer. However, it’s clear that the café is still growing, and the staff is dedicated to maintaining quality even as they navigate the increasing demand.
The pastries are a delightful surprise—moist, rich, and perfectly complement the bold flavors of their signature drinks. From the indulgent pistachio chocolate cake to the buttery baklava, each bite feels like a treat straight from the heart of Yemen.
The coffee and tea selection is the true highlight. Their signature Yemeni coffee is rich, spiced, and beautifully brewed, while the Adeni chai is a must-try for tea lovers. Whether you prefer a traditional qishr (coffee infused with ginger and spices) or a more modern espresso-based drink, Almoka delivers a depth of flavor that sets it apart from standard coffee chains.
While the wait times can be longer during busy periods, it’s a small price to pay for a truly authentic experience. Growing pains are to be expected for a place that is quickly gaining a loyal following. If you’re patient and appreciate handcrafted drinks made with care, Almoka is well worth the visit.
Final Verdict: A must-visit for those who appreciate quality coffee, warm hospitality, and a cultural experience. Give them grace as they grow, and you’ll be rewarded with one of the best cups of...
Read moreWe tried Almoka for the first time tonight(April 12, 2025). Wonderful little café, quick service even though it was quite busy. I tried the Almoka signature latte and was very pleased. The taste of coffee, milk and spices was very balanced! My husband got the pistachio latte and that was also very good! He loves it. We unfortunately had already just eaten dinner so we didn't try any food items. The only surprises we had was there were not any options for milk substitutes, so I thought. I asked if they had soy with a response of, "no." I wish i would have been offered their other options they had. I probably could have looked closer at the menu as well. (Not wanting to hold up the line😬) The drinks were extremely hot. I love an extra hot coffee but please use caution if you are hoping to taste any of their baked goods or anything later. 😆 We do love the window bar for people who wish to study or do work. It is equipped with multiple outlets as well. Their hours also allow for later evening purchases. I love a cup of coffee after dinner to keep the food coma at bay. 🤪 We spoke to a couple of ladies sitting next to us that ordered the chai and they were also impressed. We are definitely coming back to try more! What have...
Read moreWe had the aLMOKA original iced latte, pistachio iced latte, and spinach and cheese pie. Everything tasted great! The original was a little sweet for my personal liking, but unique and tasty none the less. The pistachio latte was delicious. Not too sweet. They must make their syrups and creams there, as they seem super fresh and quite thick. On to the food... Very good selection of fresh pastries. The spinach pie was wrapped with phyllo dough. There were layers upon layers of crispy goodness, with a moist inside of spinach and feta. Hot, crispy, moist, goodness. Definitely would order again. In addition, the sweet pastries and cheesecakes looked delicious. I definitely recommend...
