The atmosphere here really steps into it's hot dog challenge. The walls are stacked with plaques to people getting the minimum 12 or greater. The building is an older building, but it has nice big windows giving it a bright and airy feeling. I order the Bacon Cheddar Dog Basket ($12). This is two Corner Bar Dogs smothered with chili sauce and piled high with freshly shredded cheddar cheese and a hickory smoked bacon strip. These were good, but I didn't see what the big deal was. I think maybe if they wrapped the dog in bacon it would have helped, also I didn't taste the chili in it. The fries were good, however they were nothing special. Just properly fried standard crinkle fries. I also got a Bavarian Dog ($6). This is a ¼ lb grilled bratwurst topped with stone ground mustard and kraut on a steamed pretzel bun. I enjoyed this dog more. This dog with the others topping would have been a hit for me. They also have a large selection of Root Beers. The 2 I tried were CICERO Salted Caramel Root Beer and DANG! Butterscotch Root Beer. Both were unique and delicious. The service was friendly and okay. However they got busy after I ordered and I felt forgotten. I needed another drink and I couldn't order it till they brought my bill. Overall a 3 1/2 star review, that I'll round up to 4 stars. Would I return? Yes, with a caveat. I would need to already be in the area.

We have been here numerous times and have yet to have a bad experience. We have gone with both friends and family. The place has a nice family atmosphere and has seating available for larger crowds. They even have a bar inside if you prefer to belly up and enjoy some beverages. The assortment of hot dogs are plentiful and you will not be disappointed with any of them. We do prefer the Chicago dog and burrito dog. The Chicago dog comes with some great toppings to include tomato, peppers, relish, and others toppings. The burrito dog comes with a hot sauce packet and tastes just like a burrito with a hot dog twist. So good! I have included dogs from several different stops. They also have an assortment of other foods there such as the Reuben sandwich, which is really good as well. If you can eat a dozen of their dogs, you can be immortalized on their wall. There are names of people from all over the globe. We took a pic and I have posted them on this review. If you can zoom in, you will see the various places represented. The service has always been friendly and professional. The waitress made a mistake on our recent order in our favor and thus we got two dogs on the house. Service can make or break a place and they have great service. Definitely worth a stop if you are anywhere near and are hungry for some great hot dogs.

Tiny Portions and Rude Wait Staff! Been going to the Corner regularly for 30 years and never had an experience like I did the last time we went in.... Ordered the sweet potato fries for an up-charge and received literally 10 fries - see picture attached, that's not an exaggeration. When I noticed the distinct lack of fries upon delivery, I remarked that we will need a side of fries to get to a normal portion..... they brought over a normal sized portion on a side dish and everything was groovy until we got the bill. I noticed there was an additional charge for the side of fries and I asked the waiter (Jai) to take the charge off since the kitchen did not give a normal portion with the sandwich. He gave me a displeased look and remarked, "that's the normal portion - I can bring my manager over to tell you the same thing I just told you" in a condescending tone..... I said yeah he better do that. The manager came over and told me that the kitchen pre-weighs every single serving to 5oz. I find that hard to believe, but nonetheless I figured I would write this review for my fellow sweet potato connoisseurs so they aren't let down when they receive their 10 fries for the $3 up-charge. The manager did end up taking the charge off, but we were treated very rudely and having worked in the service industry that is NOT the way to do business. Also, be warned that bread sticks no longer accompany pasta dishes - we were given "covid" as the main reason why breadsticks are no longer served with (off menu)alfredo pasta.

The bartender was more interested in personal conversations with a coworker drinking after work. The customers were a "side project" to check in on once and awhile between the conversations. I'm personally an executive chef and understand that the bartender is almost like a "host" to the bar and creates regulars. That's difficult to do when you're ONLY talking to employees after they clock out and treating bar guests as strangers just wanting a beer. I think more training and management involvement with figure 8's would help. Otherwise..kinda sad. Js. Felt like being a customer was "being in the way". I'd be all over my servers/bartenders about that. Plus the employees only talked about closing early and not wanting to be there. Right in front of guests. Guess the people that keep you afloat were an inconvenience to your life. Ugh, so inexperienced. Next time customers shouldn't come in so you can have work gossip and close early. Seems like a legit business model 😆🙄

The Corner Bar in downtown Rockford, MI, has long been known for their hot dogs--which are delish! However, their menu offers a wide variety of culinary options, so we swung by today and tried their Fish & Chips. We were beyond pleased with our meals. The flaky white fish was coated with a light crispy batter (not that heavy breading stuff) and it was served with a side of crispy fries, and coleslaw. The Corner Bar offers a full service bar, however, it was just soft drinks for us today. The Corner Bar has been a mainstay in downtown Rockford offering a family-friendly atmosphere in the wonderful town of Rockford. Rockford is the perfect small town for a fall color jaunt--stroll around town and down by the river, check out the dam, pop in and out of the unique shops, and, of course, plan on a meal and your favorite beverage at the Corner Bar. Guaranteed good!
